I agree with at least waiting until 5 or 6 games have been played before we say this our new normal.

As Presgoat explained, those stats I uncovered late in 2017 were very specific. They weren't just pressure numbers. They were "any dropback in games with more than a certain amount of pressures" numbers. If you just look at pressured dropbacks, Dak is very good. In fact in 2016-17, he was 2nd to Brady on pressured dropbacks in games when he was pressured less than 40% of the time in the game. Dak's problem was in games when he was pressured more consistently than that (over 40%). In those games, he was terrible -- even when throwing from a clean pocket. "Running from ghosts," as it were. This went back to his college days.

Last year, after the first few games, there was no evidence of anything like that. I posted last year's numbers some time during the off-season, but I can't find them now.
Interesting take. In line with what Dak has said himself.

I love how everyone is jumping on the bandwagon bus. We have plenty of room, hop on board. We will see if any of these sports politicians jump off if there is a speed bump. Dak is a winner and has been a stud since he came in the league. Pap? crickets?

Go Dallas!!!
Nothing wrong with giving credit where it's due. Dak has had very warranted criticism over these past 3 years. While he has shown glimpses of greatness, this year it seems he's finally taking that next step.

I for one have been critical of his consistency. But after 2 back to back literally perfect games, I'm fully ready to accept that Dak is that dude. Sign him asap.!

Tired of hearing pundits and announcers...be it Troy Aikman,Chris Collinsworth JOE BUCK....it don't matter, cradle the jock of Rodgers and for some reason,Carson Wentz...THE ONLY WAY to shut them up is for Dak and our Cowboys need to arrive on the scene in a big way...and win. SO FAR, we have...never understood why Carson Wentz gets a free pass and a ton of love the way he does...its really cult like. All Dak does is stay healthy and wins.

Yeah? Where did he say that? Colin "tells it like it is" today. Tomorrow, he'll have something entirely different to say. If you choose to forget that, that's your prerogative. I remember.
good point on Colin. What he says with conviction today may not be what he says Tuesday lol...He is your classic bloviating clickbait salesman...shock jock.

I expect to get a little heat but honest question, how much of Mahomes is special talent vs Andy Reid? Remember Reid was a playoff fixture with McNabb. I'm not sure there's a more QB friendly out there. Not taking anything away obviously from his special arm talent but it's safe to say Reid is Kellen Moore x 10. Master at scheming and creating mismatches....
Not only that but look at the fire power they have on offense. You would be hard pressed to find a better offense with that talent. Rams/Saints most likely

Yup. Ignore him.
I wish more posters would actually be like Cowherd and admit it when they were wrong.

There is no honor in continually chanting “Dak Sucks” when that is clearly not the case.

It just took Cowherd a little longer than some of us to see Dak’s inner greatness. But its better late than never. Continuing in ignorance is never a good thing.

Dak is good
Dak has improved
I’m very happy that he has made the strides that he has

I need to see him against a great defense when he is under pressure
@percyhoward had posted some numbers previously that Dak drops off significantly when pressured. Great and elite QBs don’t do that

Let’s see where we are at the end of the year

***?

Show me these QBs with better numbers when pressured.

Yes, they actually do.

Brady lost two super Bowls because he was "significantly pressured". Aaron Rodgers has looked completely pedestrian when his line fails and he gets pressured.

It happens to EVERY QB.

Brady has a revamped OL every single year
How many first round picks does he have on the OL?
How many of the NE OL have gone elsewhere and been great?

Fact is that it is Brady that makes them better
He is very smart and reads defenses very well do he knows where to go with the football and is very very accurate

Which of these things can you say about Dak?

How about ZERO?

So let’s put a sock in it before giving Brady’s example when it comes to Dak

The numbers @percyhoward posted was drop off that Dak had when pressured on 40% or more of his dropbacks during a game.

All QB’s drop off when pressured heavily. Dak was dropping off more than most in that circumstance though.

Yes but not all QBs require the services of 4 first round picks and even then gets pressured

At some point you have to blame him

Can’t expect him to perform only when he is wrapped in bubble wrap
