Hopefully, Wilson will be ready soon. Either that or we might have to consider Jones moving temporarily back to free safety and starting either Lewis or Brown at corner. Our corner depth is much stronger than our safety depth.

Thompson started 16 games for the Giants in 2017.

He should be OK for a game or two (if healthy).

Maybe. I saw nothing in the preseason that gives me confidence that he's more than just a body. Of course, with the corners we have, the job of the free safety in this defense is a lot easier so maybe it won't be a big deal.

Not to say PFF grades are worth anything, but they had him ranked 70th among safeties the year that he started.

Relax guys, this is a purely a PS / depth move with the possibility of Woods missing some time due to his ankle injury.

Jones didn't mesh with the Pack. It may be a lack of skills or he may just need a fresh start. It's smart to bring him and take a look. Who knows, maybe he can turn the corner and be productive. He seems to be the type of guy Will McClay always seems to find for us, fairly high presumption of talent that for lots of reasons, just didn't work out where he was. And for the most part, Will does very well with these types of guys. Time will tell on Josh Jones, if we even sign him.

It depends on the time frame. I'm now seeing 6 weeks for X.Woods. That could be a problem.

For a game or two, Thompson should be OK but if he has to start 5 or 6 games that's not good.

Hopefully they work Wilson into the mix during the game this week and gradually increase his snaps going forward.

Definitely a fan of churning the last few spots. Something the Cowboys have always seemed to actively do.

It's when you hear news that Xavier Woods will be out at least 4-6 weeks. You realize the role of whoever they sign might play some significant snaps.
