I have no doubt that he could outproduce Noah Brown. But as if right now, Brown himself isn't on the 53-man roster and I'm not sure he will be.

I get what you're going for and nothing can be 100% ruled out. I'll just say I'd be really surprised if Dez ever came back.
We are having open try outs at wide out lol.
I used the Brown example as he had a very defined role and is the same 225 pound type WR.

Dez would certainly be a huge upgrade over Brown.

There's no question that our toughest games are yet to come, although, our early returns are certainly encouraging. The defense is yet to get their legs under them well enough to dominate but with some good players returning and others regaining their health, it'll get better. Offensively, we're surprisingly improved over last season and it should only get better with our youngsters gaining added experience. We'll have one more weak team to get past until things heat up considerably. Anyhow, it's been a great start -- let's savor it and hope for more! ;)

Well put
I’m enjoying it and hoping for better post season success

Witten is averaging 5.7 ypc. He is a viable target inside the 10 yd line, which is perfectly fine. he seems comfortable with his role and is even playing special teams. I don't see any way that Dez's ego would allow him to be the 3rd or 4th option in the passing game. Maybe for a few games, but eventually he would want the ball. Dak and this receiver group looks to have developed some really nice chemistry. Don't mess with it by bringing in a diva.

1. I think it if you aren't a Cowboys fan you might want to avoid this board for a good while. It could be a long year for here for non-Cowboys fans.

2. Philly is old and got hurt exactly as happens to old teams. Makes me wonder why smart football people didn't knock them for it BEFORE the season?

3. Dak Prescott is better than even I thought but thankfully I wasn't one of the dummies haranguing him because he couldn't make Allen Hurns and Tavon Austin superstars.

4. Zeke had 100 yards in week 2 after the extended hold out. He never needs another training camp snap again. If a RB body only has so many carries Zeke needs to take zero before week 1 and then slowly ramp up as season wears on. I;m not sure I'd give him more thna 10 carries next week.

5. NFL tanking has brought us this... A bye week that is not a Bye week. I'm not a coach so can let them worry about complacency and such but the Dolphins are the worst NFL team I have EVER seen. This week should be about getting lots of snaps for kids. Rest anyone dinged at all. If Taco isn't traded, start him.

6. The Saints haven't been the same since DAL beat them last year. DAL figured out how to handle Thomas and Kamara and the league has copied a lot of that.

7. The DAL OL is playing like the group they were drafted and paid to be. Watching them work is pure bliss.

8. I'd sign Dez Bryant if any other WR injuries occur. I'd give him a small set of plays that were mostly psuedo TE routes with jump balls and fades included. But his emotion/joy would be a boost and he'd cost the minimum.

9. Devin Smith is really good. This is one reclamation project that feels like a huge win. And may well take DAL out of R1 WR territory next draft. From Hurns/Austin/Thompson/Rookie Gallup to Cooper/Gallup/Cobb/Smith seems pretty friggin good business by the GM. And it cost an R1 and 3M in free agency? Sheesh.

10. S U P E R B O W L . Yes, that has to be goal now. It is time.

You were on a roll until the Dez post. No way I bring that non-route running, me first, non performing, big mouth back into the fold. No way in hell.

Witten is doing well catching the ball on short routes. His blocking isn’t really blocking. He’s a horrible blocker.

Dez is an iconic Cowboy. His career remind me of Roy Williams' career. Hall of fame early years, and then changing circumstances derailed their careers. But i will never forget their impacts both players brought fear to the opposition.
Dez burned his bridge. He is emotionally unstable. They do not need him in the locker room. Cedrick Wilson can get some snaps at WR.

97 year old Witten was Romo's best friend and has caught 2 TD passes in 2 weeks.
There is IMHO room for a guy like Dez who has been humbled and has a huge heart to play for this team and get a defined small role that makes the team even more dangerous.
Dez loves the Cowboys and any and all issues aside he can provide you a large body with good hands.
He's lost a lot but is far more athletic than Witten.

Dez can block and he can vreak tackles with just about any WR in football even today.
He's in zero position to demand passes or caught any drama at this point.
It would be lot like adding Witten back ad just mostly a feel good story that allows some nostalgia versus adding a back end WR that will not even be a blip on the radar.
I would welcome Dez back. With Gallup out a month to a month and a half Cobb and Cooper are the top 2 receivers with Smith at slot. Dez would be 4th/5th on the depth chart and could help in the redzone the most. With Dak being on target with deep throws I think Dez could make some things happen. When Gallup comes back Dez can still get a few snaps a game.

I think his attitude would be under control as he knows Dallas won't play with him. Motivation to show out for another contact, with or without Dallas, plus a chance to win a Superbowl.

The PPG before and after playing DAL is hardly a mirage and has persisted across this season.

DAL took Kamaraand Thomas out of the game and they had no offense.
Other teams are now doing same with safeties and/or athletic LBs plus doubling Thomas.

They scored more TWICE as many points versus CLE as DAL.

Weird hill to die on.
I didn't say it's a mirage. The Cowboys copied the Browns' recipe and just have better players. The Saints didn't do anything on offense against the Vikings either.

The Cowboys executed the defense the best of the 3, but largely because the offense didn't gift the Saints points. But it's not like Dallas came up with some new strategy to stop NO.

Brown is a luxury we cannot afford at this point.

Don't count them out. They were terrible the first two games of last season. Should have started off 0-2. They'll also get their quarterback back in what, 4-6 weeks? If they manage the playoffs they'll be dangerous.

You haven't been following Dez on twitter then is my guess.
He's hungry for nay shot and just wants to retire properly.
He constantly responds to Dallas fans about how good this WR group is.

This time last year DAL was dea dint he water because they had zero scoring options inside the 10.
Old man Witt was badly missed for just that.

Dez was a good blocker even on his worst days and has a bid body that isn't going away.
Dallas isn't likely to do this by any means but I would have added Dez as a psuedo TE last year and been better pre-Cooper in the red zone for sure.
And I'd do it again this year.

Dez has been humbled. He would be a vet min guy with zero guarantee. He'd just be here because he loves the Cowboys and wants to fight for a title.
He's been working out with the best WR coach in the game for 2 years now.
I think he can help on the field and emotionally.
I'd rather have him than a street FA kid who has zero shot (the same as Dez) of contributing next year.

I'm not counting them out but I don't fear them at all.
DAL adjusted to what they do on offense and they just aren't that good even if healthy.
Kamara never wants to get hit by Jaylon Smith again, Watching that hit gave me CTE.

DAL is in an elite group with Rams/Pats/Chief imo as strong SB contender.
PHI and others are in a 2nd tier where the Saints would be IF they were healthy.
With the Saints current health I don't see them making the playoffs but perhaps Bridgewater has more than he showed last week and they are defrinitely in a very bad looking division.

Prior to the DAL game lst year the Saints looked like the best team in football.
After not so much.

You’re probably being a bit hard on the Saints. They still managed a strong playoff run last year and were an egregiously blown call away from the Super Bowl. Losing Brees halfway through Q1 yesterday obviously hurt them. Still, I wouldn’t write them off going forward.
The Saints should've been in the Super Bowl
Epically robbed so much that the league had a rule change.
Sounds familiar

As for this year. No Brees, no playoffs

I had to look that B.S. up to make sure it was a word. Its the freaking word of the day calendar come to life. Congrats to the OP for introducing me to a new word. Cause I for sure thought that was a typo.
