:clap::clap:

I think this is a good idea by the FO. And what's that say about their opinion of Heath now? Cuz they seem to realise we need an upgrade at Safety now.
I think this may be more in response to the Xavier Woods injury, but I could be wrong.

The coaches like Thompson (As a Safety).

His coverage was good in the preseason and he was in the correct location at the correct time against the run.

His issue was missed tackles. He tends to come in too hot (too fast) when attempting to make tackles.

He did play more conservatively when he was the last line of defense. It was generally tackles up in the outside area within about 10 yards of the line of scrimmage where most of his missed tackles occurred.

It is too bad that Frazier is not a little better against the pass because he is good against the run at SS.

I do recall Frazier making some mistakes in pass coverage during the preseason games. One mistake resulted in an easy TD for the opponent.

It's the angles and tackling issues I've seen from Thompson in limited action that can kill a defense. Miami wont matter. But N.O on the road regardless of QB, you have to make tackles particularly with their short passing game. Obviously GB...

Let's hope Woods isnt out for too long.

This is where you find yourself with a team that doesn't value the safety position. You aren't "all in" unless you're willing to upgrade where you need to upgrade. But hey, we saved some cash by not signing ET.

He just looks like the type of safety that the game has passed by.

He's a true SS / Linebacker type.

He did run a 4.4 40 though.

And he can rush the passer. That always helps.

It has been a strange 12 months for Jones. After a tough year in 2018 that saw him struggle to claim a role on Mike Pettine's defense early on, he ended up playing a lot of safety down the stretch due to injuries and the departures of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Jermaine Whitehead.

Then when 2019 rolled around, Jones skipped all of OTAs, reportedly in the hopes of forcing a trade out of town. He was in attendance for Minicamp - he would have been fined if he had skipped that week - but did not practice due to a hamstring issue.

Then in training camp, Jones made it into the practice field early, even getting a rew reps with the starters as a nickel and dime linebacker while serving as a second team safety. However, an illness struck before preseason games, and Jones has not participated in games or practices for at least two weeks. Some APC writers have speculated that this was a team imposed absence as Brian Gutekunst attempted to find a trade partner for Jones.

Regardless of the true reason for Jones' recent unavailability, it appears that his time with the Packers is indeed done. This will make him one of the most disappointing draft picks in Ted Thompson's tenure; he was drafted in the second round in 2017

Yeah he sounds like a real winner. o_O:huh:
may just need a fresh start.

Or hope that Donovan Wilson is ready sooner rather than later.

So it was the typical cattle call workout.

It is interesting that Henry is still out there.

Henry is the Marinelli type DT (1 gap type with "quick twitch").

Henry spent all of 2016 and most of 2018 on IR.

2016: Not certain about the specific injury.
2017: Played 14 games and had 3.5 sacks.
2018: Missed first 4 game with hernia surgery. Returned for 3 games. Went to IR with a herniated disc.

Kicking the tires on a 2nd round talent. I get it.

I wonder where they had him on their board in 2017?
