Our DTs are TRASH

Cant believe we passed on signing McCoy and Jernigan
Covington was a good signing but with Maliek having a solid injury history + Hill being a raw prospect (still hasn't made active roster) I don't see any reason why we couldn't of signed 1 more DT in this loaded free agent class ( Danny Shelton, Malcom Brown, Jonathan Hankins, and Margus Hunt where all free agent upgrades over what he had and NON of them commanded even mid-tier money).

Hes "Almost" Anthony Spencer Good flashes, always almost there, but can be replaced.

Replaceable is a bit strong, as I think he's a starter that a lot of teams would like to have, but Collins is usually one step away from making the play. He was the same way in college too.

Collins has developed into a good DT, but he's always been a 46th percentile NFL athlete, and you can see that extra gear missing when he needs to explode and finish the play. I think that's a lot of the reason why we drafted Trystan Hill, who's missing a lot of things but does have some seriously impressive burst.

We all thought Collins was due for a breakout season. He was dominating in the preseason.

Then, the regular season came.

And here we are. Yet again. And Maliek Collins is yet again MIA.

We probably expect too much of him based on hype that we shouldn't listen to. He and Crawford have both been good, but not great players for us, and decent pickups for third-rounders. You always hope that player will perform at a higher level than their draft value, but these two so far have just been solid selections.
