He didn't slow down for the purpose of stiff arming him. That would be selfish. He slowed down, hoping to set up Gallup for a block.

I was disappointed when that play happened. Thought he might have been able to beat Norman to the end zone (or at least dragged him along if he got caught).

Looked like to me that Dak was angling towards norman, looking for the contact. If he would have angled away, towards the middle of the field, he gains at least another 10-15 yds, maybe even scores.

I think he should have cut back behind Gallup. That would have immediately put Gallup in position to push Norman out of the way. Even still, I'm not sure there was going to be much more gotten out of that play no matter what he did.

I agree, he probably would've gotten more out of it if he'd either slowed down momentarily or put Gallup between him and Norman. The flip side is the defenders coming from behind may have caught him.

Gallup could have blocked better for maybe a few more yards. Stiff, any stiff arm on that blowhard is fine by me.

Ideally, Gallup would just let Norman keep running, but for some reason players see the back of the jersey and just want to push a guy.

Yeah, number 20 would have had an angle, especially with the slowdown a move like that would cause. Probably would have got 5 more yards at most.

It was interesting that Dak didn't cut back the other direction. Maybe they coached him to avoid it because he might take a big hit going towards the middle of the field.
