slight problem with that. waiver wired don't use this years standings until later in the season. Dolphins have 13th slot
After week 3 it goes to the 2019 win% to determine the waiver claims order.

They could also trade the player to the Dolphins for a conditional pick. The condition being that the Dolphins win the Super Bowl.

OL Knight had an injury in camp. That might "flare up" again and they could put him on IR.

CJ Goodwin is a special teams player and 5th CB.

They could put LB Gifford on IR but they obviously have been avoiding that move.

Taco's contract is guaranteed. They are unlikely to cut him.

X.Woods would be out 8 weeks if he went to IR. That's 7 games with the bye week. He can practice after 6 weeks.

If not for Woods injury, with Donovan Wilson practicing now, they could cut Kavon Frazier. I guess they could anyway with Wilson/Thompson back from injury and Woods out they are actually up 1 Safety. Worst case Byron Jones can play snaps at Safety to finish put a game.

They won't do this but they could make a deal with a low end veteran like Su'a-Filo such that they cut him and then re-sign him after a week or two with him getting a bonus to make up for game checks lost. Since he is a vested veteran, he is not subject to waivers.

Proposal (not really serious)
The Cowboys should make a deal with the Dolphins where the Dolphins claim players the Cowboys cut and then if the Cowboys need any of them back they swap a 2025 6th for the Dolphins 2025 7th in a trade to get them back. They should do that with Taco. He'll be begging to come back to the Cowboys and spend double time in practice.

If Austin clears concussion protocol, the logical guy is Cedric Wilson.

i'd hold on to Wilson, at least until Gallup returns.
Austin is so brittle, even if he clears protocol, as tavon seems bound to get yet another crack on the eggshell

Agreed. Plus Wilson plays a lot on special teams. Dallas was considering calling him up for this even before Austin's concussion.

per recent talking cowboys show, brian broaddus (for whatever reason) thinks it could be TE Dalton Schultz, as he has very little to no snaps the last two games and he thinks cowboys
can get one like olawele as an emergency TE.

I don't think we got that route (Schultz) and they still need CJ Goodwin for special teams as he's been productive there.

I think it's looking OG Brandon Knight, imo.

I mean Taco could very well get cut.

They've had over 2 weeks to acquire a pick for him and no luck.
Seem unlikely to play him in the short term and now injuries are piling up and Quinn is ready to come back
Taco's contract is guaranteed for this season and next...

Justin March? He's cleared before I thought.

Or they could surprise everyone and put Tyrone Crawford on IR with chance to return.

I don't trust Broaddus on this one. Going with just two tight ends is risky considering Olawale, the fullback, is also the emergency third halfback.

Armstrong? He almost had a sack on Eli in the first game and played pretty good in the Skins game from what I heard (haven't watched the game yet) and he had a good camp. I highly doubt Armstrong will get cut. I think they would rather cut Taco before Armstrong.
Yeah so who else do you think we should set aside give us room. I figured defensive line for defensive line

Everybody keep saying taco. I doubt that highly without getting value for him

Taco flashed more than Armstrong in the preseason. I think Armstrong was only active over Taco cause they wanted to do a trade.

No.

It is very likely that Taco doesn't show up on the practice field. Clear that they are making an example out of him over poor practice habits.

Do you think they would actually just cut Taco without getting value for him. That's my question
