Shante, LaFluer (who Aikman pushed for over Tony Gonzalez), and Bobby. It’s arguable to say the least. Let’s not get crazy. Still a wasted first round pick however you slice it.
Maybe this could serve as a lesson to the staff that they shouldn't try to get away with drafting for need, instead of proven ability. They took a gambler's chance on him and lost. All that shines is not gold -- sometimes that's strictly for fools! I'll bet someone picks him up, knowing there's little to lose.
What a damn waste of a pick - the problem with all of this is half the board could see this coming the second we drafted the bum.
Ahhh, yes. Jimmy Pete Petrovich, from the old neighborhood. I remember him well. We used to call him "Pistol Pete" (after Peter Maravich) as a joke because he was so bad at basketball. On the very rare occasion that he actually made a shot, he used to mime that he was drawing a gun and shooting someone. It was incredibly annoying that such a bad player thought he deserved a signature move like that. Maybe that's what you are talking about when you say Taco will be the next JPP.Guess he will be the next JPP elsewhere!
We basically need to stop drafting the workout warriors and pay more attention to what these guys actually do on the field in college. Sure, we may miss on a diamond in the rough, but we sure has heck wouldn't be punting away 1st round picks for guys like Taco Charlton.
Disappointed, but first round busts happen for all teams.
Bobby Carpenter isn't the biggest draft bust in Cowboy history.Does he beat out Bobby Carpenter for our biggest draft bust ever?
