I was talking about how Taco handled it, but the team is not blameless in this.

without knowing the specifics (is he fighting with coaches?), it would seem to me that:
1) he's a better pass rusher than what we've seen from the RDE position the last 2 games, so this is actually hurting the team

and

2) you don't increase a player's trade value by keeping him inactive the last 2 weeks

Ok I got you as I thought that you were talking about the team handling it wrong. But you know, I don’t think Taco handle it wrong either as he wants another opportunity with another team, sooner than later.

And in reference to “increasing trade value”, I was basically saying that the team wanted to get something out of this then just out right waiving him with no return. They kept him inactive to protect from injury.

What's it going to be then, eh?

They spent 5 freakin months trying to trade him! Is this a joke? How braindead do they have to be to not understand the guy has little to no value?
That's the real tragedy here. Couldn't even trade him during the draft.

I think this solidifies the fact that the Joneses simply aren't as good marketing their talent as they are at marketing the brand.

Probably started trying to trade him right after acquiring Quinn in late March. I'm sure the team was attempting to get more than others were willing to pay at the time. Then, after the draft, there was the possibility that teams might not have been able to fill that need, so you continue trying to trade him. Same with during camp and the start of the regular season with players not working out or getting injured.

So I'm saying I don't blame the team for holding on to him as long as possible to see if they could get something for him. If they weren't willing to accept even the lowest of picks, I would blame them for that. But we don't know if that's the case. Teams may have simply not been interested in paying anything for him.

Just dropping in to remind everyone that this was also the draft in which the team rebuilt its secondary with Awuzie, Lewis and Woods. Then they managed to sign their current #2 TE and #2 QB as UDFAs.

You win some, you lose some. Taco was a big miss but let's keep things in perspective.

Yeah and you keep on trying to minimize monumental failure while blaming fans for this. You sure showed them!
What do you mean? I said y’all can rue. You guys won. The Cowboys lost. Should’ve drafted TJ Watt regardless of fit. What else do you need to stroke your ego?

I need to read less excuses. Thanks for doing your part.

It was pure stupidity to keep him inactive if you were trying to trade him. The league knew full well that he's been a huge disappointment; the only way to establish a market for him was to show him off, and hope for the best. And this after he finally showed some life in the most meaningful game of the PS. A decent performance, or 2, could've gone a long way in developing some interest in a former 1st round pick DE who may be turning the corner, so to speak.
