Is Garrett the problem with character issue players?

Yes, Garrett has not been good at dealing with difficult personality type players.

No. Here's my explanation post to Cowboy75.......tell me how I'm wrong.....

If you give a person a job and they agree to do it, how do you fault the person who gave you the job for your failure?

As an example, I had a fella come by one day wanting to mow my lawn. I talked to him a bit and he was going to use a push mower. I explained I mowed about an acre, and didn't think he could push it since it was in the upper 90s.

But he insisted he would do it. He'd go get his lawnmower and be finished that day. I was reluctant but figured I'd let him try.
He worked about an hour, said it was hot, and ask if I'd pay him so he could get his electricity turned on.
I went ahead and paid him and he agreed to be back at 7:30 next morning and have everything done by noon.

Next day he showed up after 9. About an hour later he's working on his lawnmower. Hasn't gotten a quarter of the front mowed.
And now he asking for money to fix the pull cord.

I said no. So he promised to be back the next day with the stuff he needed to finish the mower and finish the job.

Two days after that I ended up loading up his lawnmower, taking it to him and finishing the mowing myself.

Do you blame me?

The way I see it, he was given every chance to keep his word. He was paid upfront. He knew what he had to do, and didn't get it done. If your word is not better than a toilet paper contract, then you don't get a second chance.

Bunch of garbage. None of them amounted to anything and were bit players.

And it's not like they were one and done, they were around for a while and most were finished when they left Dallas.
They all still the physical ability to play when they departed.

Dez still had ability just not as much as previously. They cut him because he became an increasing distraction.

That is not remotely similar.

Players are assets that are difficult to obtain.

Law mowing services are not.

If your list featured guys that left Dallas and were productive with another coach...you might have a point. As it is all you have going here is flattulence.

JG is just untrustworthy IMO. He’s always seemed like a snake, JMO.

Having said that his “RKG” makeup is about players that live to play football, and eat breathe, and love it. It’s not about choir boys.

Marinelli has had Selvies, and Golden Cocks, and made them players. My bet is Taco doesn’t love football.

Here's a better question: What coach has taken any of these players and turned them into something after Garrett kicked their ***** to the curb?

What's that? No one, you say? Not even the almighty Belicheck? No ****.
Charles Haley might have been done if Jimmy didn't keep him in check.

Tony Casillas had "retired" with the Falcons but Jimmy turned him around.

If you do a poor job raising your kids then that'a a permanent problem.

Tell me HOW its not remotely similar.

They were both wanted the a job. They both agreed to a job.
They both had a "contract" to finish do the job and they failed.

Just because one played football and the other was a common person doesn't change the circumstances.

I'll wait.

What's it going to be then, eh?

This is idiotic.

This is like blaming the shift manager when the store manager is the real culprit for issues.

If young players don't get the hardarse coaching they need from day one, then they are unlikely to make it elsewhere.

This is absolutely dumb as as well. A a hole player is going to be an a hole regardless. Parcells had Taylor, Gibbs had Manley, Belicheck had Gronk and Hernandez

Charles Haley was already a HOF level player and he's worn out his welcome at his previous team, also, Jimmy never kept Haley "in check", He tolerated his bull**** for the sake of winning.

Tony Casillas was never a character issue (you know, character being the entire premise of your post)

I'll ask again the question that you seem to want to dodge because any answer you give would make your entire OP look like the steaming turd that it is:

What NFL coach took on any of these POS players and turned them into something?

I'm no Garrett apologist by ANY stretch of the word (I've wanted him gone for years), but blaming Garrett for not polishing a pile of turds into a satchel full of diamonds is beyond the definition of stupid.

I actually like a lot of the content that X posts here. He goes off the reservation once in a while (this OP is the perfect example) but he brings some good stuff to the forum. I don't dislike him by any definition. This post, however, happens to be a dud. It happens. He's all good in my eyes.

Hard to relate when everything was handed to you by daddy and you never had to work for anything in your life. All these players worked their butts off to be where they are. Garrett didnt have to lift a finger.

Again beyond dumb,
