The lack of a pass rush has been easy to see in these first two games. Where has Lawrence been?
Is his injury still holding him back ? I like Lawrence, but I didn’t care for his contract
. He has always been a streaky type of player, but I kind of expected more out of him. I was hoping that he was wanting to prove that he deserves big money. What’s your opinion?

He does need to pick it up a bit, but he was closer to several big plays and sacks this last week. Nearly missed at least two. I think he's due and I think he gets at least two this week. If not against a bad Miami team and offensive line? Yeah, I'll start to worry more too.

Coming off shoulder surgery this summer and not participating in much during preseason, I didn’t expect DLaw to have huge impact early. He is working his way back into form.

With the return of Robert Quinn this week, I expect that opposing offenses will not be able to double team DLaw as much. IMO, we should give him a couple of more weeks to get back into full form.

As Bobhaze said, he has been double teamed a lot and missed TC. Watch some of the plays, they're almost always putting two hats on him.

High hopes for Quinn helping the situation soon. Even much higher hopes for Gregory if he can be reinstated to his high perch.

I created a thread under the same title and same concerns concerning D-Law. I hope that huge contract didn't go to his head or starts affecting his performance.

I hope that Lawrence can pick it up, because the pass rush has been non-existent in the first two games against scrubs. It looked like Dallas would have great DEs during the offseason and the DE position looked like there was an overabundance of talent. Taco is gone and Gregory has not even filed to be reinstated. Armstrong has not impressed much and Crawford is playing more at DE than I would like to see. In reality, the whole DL has been a big disappointment.

I think he probably was over paid, but the cowboys were in a spot where they didn’t have much choice. Being in win now mode with Taco and Gregory both complicating the roster.

Lawrence and his agent held out on having the surgery, which made Jerry rush into resigning him. I didn’t like the way Lawrence used the surgery as a bargaining chip, but it was smart.

@jnday The Giants have a good OL and Eli gets the ball out quick.
I think Von Miller and Chubb have zero sacks for the 0-2 Broncos.

In 2018, the Cowboys averaged 2.2 sacks/game and 2.3 TDs/game. I am guessing most teams score more TDs than sacks. Sacks are just so hard to get with today's offenses.

Nearly missed makes it sound like he got them

The defensive game plan in both games was to focus on stopping the run.

Against the pass they decided to play more coverage and keep the pass rush simple. They did much less stunting or blitzing than most games last season.

I was not a big fan of giving DLaw the big contract but I'm not worried about him. They should focus on keeping him healthy and letting him ramp up after the surgery. Players might be cleared by the Doctor but it takes time to get strength back after being away from heavy lifting.
