Damn.....

Jalen is elite, but Deion was probably the most talented and dangerous DB to ever play. Not only was he a high int machine, 50/50 or greater that the int was going for TD. Not to mention his punt return ability. Oh man

This is a problem. I wish he'd stay put. The last thing any team that is in the championship hunt wants is for a player like that to go to a competing team. In other words, Saints, Rams, Eagles, Seahawks, Chiefs or Patriots. Yes, AFC matters too. A player like that can be just enough to put them over the top.

What to do? He's not a free agent. I guess we sit back and hope he goes to the Bills?

Question is how much of an upgrade is Ramsey over Byron? We could only pay one.

Plus we have to give something up in the trade.

He would not report to the bills.

First of all, anything Jerry says on his weekly radio show has to be filtered heavily. Jerry says a lot of things. He loves the sound of his own voice saying “uh” 100 times. When Stephen says things, I take a little more notice.

Besides, although Ramsey is certainly talented, there are 3 things standing in the way of us getting him:
  • He’s nearing the end of his rookie deal, so he’s about to get his big payday. We have plenty of our own guys in this situation.
  • The costs to acquire him would be too high IMO. Probably a #1 plus....I would stop there. Confidence in Will McClay’s ability to acquire young, less expensive talent is high enough that we don’t need this kind of wheeler-dealer stuff.
  • Ramsey is a head case. Talented for sure, but why mess with good locker room chemistry by adding a guy who yaps constantly without a filter?

Really doubt Ramsey is on the radar, because he's going to get paid after this season.

As a player, he's an upgrade on Byron, but one of the things Dallas does well is culture. That upgrade (and contract) wouldn't be worth the headache.
There is the whole compensatory argument I am SURE someone will mention

When will people on this site stop giving "sportswriters" credit for their unnamed sources or their speculation on what someone says. Ramsey isn't even the same galaxy as what Deion was when Jones brought him to Dallas. When will you learn that "sportswriters" write what they do to get following regardless whether what they said is the truth or can be verified.

Latest rumors the Eagles are VERY interested in getting him..so thats a two way blow..we dont get him and he goes to our rival..

I still rather have élite S instead..but..wouldn't make waves if they got Ramsey

Then he wouldn't play at all and he'd have to wait another year for free agency.

No, if a player refuses to report to a new team after getting traded there, the league then steps in and voids the trade and the player goes back to his original team. That same thing happened with the Cowboys and patriots. The Cowboys traded Duane Thomas to the patriots but he refused to report so the league voided that trade and Thomas went back to the Cowboys and then would not speak to reporters for the entire season. He didn't talk to team mates except when required to in a game and didn't speak to coaches unless he was ordered to answer a question. After the season the Cowboys traded him again to the chargers and again Thomas didn't report so the chargers put him on the reserve/did not report list and then was ineligible for the season. After that season the chargers traded him to the skins where he played for 2 seasons before going to the WFL which folded before the 1st season was completed.
