That's why you don't draft for need. Take the best player. He would have fit in fine in the 4-3.

You're free to speculate but that speculation can't be used as fact to support an argument. TJ Watt is playing the position he fits. The Cowboys don't play that defense. Now if we can get off the TJ Watt fetish there are other guys the Cowboys could've taken instead of Taco who are performing as well. Thanks, Rod.

If Tristen Hill doesn't develop Marinelli needs to be barred from the war room. You have scouts for a reason - listen to them.

I know a lot of people say that T.J. Watt plays in a 3-4 defense as OLB. I get that. However, no one on our staff thought that maybe they could use him as an end in our defense? Considering how they like to switch people around..i.e...Jones from safety to corner, Ellis from end to OLB, etc. I still just don't get it. o_O

It amazes me that the same people who denigrate Watt praise Randy Gregory.

Watt and Gregory are almost identical in height and weight so if Gregory isn't too light in the azz to play DE, neither should Watt be!

Thank Rod for that one, and while your at it thank him for Hill our next defensive lineman bust. Don't let others tell you otherwise either, they were both obvious Roddle picks.

I won't. I know from people in that building that Marinelli led the charge for this clown. Thought he could motivate Charlton where others couldn't. Guess who was dead wrong?

They're nothing but coverup excuses. Lame, coverup excuses.

Charles Haley was as light as any of them, and a "3-4 linebacker", until the day Dallas traded for him of course. Then poof! Defensive end!

Thank him for all of his successes then too. They outweigh his failures 5 fold

Yeah. Haley. Perhaps the best pass rusher of his generation. 10 sacks in his first 2 years at DE

I like this.

I like how we set the tone and didn't trade for our first rounder

We just kicked him to the streets.

Hasta.

You're right that some 3-4 OLBs can also play DE.

I'm glad he's gone, but I gotta wonder...was his attitude and motivation influenced by the weed-smoking players the Cowboys keep getting? Could he have been a different player in a different situation?

Don't get me wrong.... these guys are blowing their own opportunities to make millions just by putting in some hard work and avoiding some things.
