I would mention Shante Carver, but even he had more than 10 sacks and contributed to a Super Bowl win.

*shrug*

And he lasted a lot longer than Taco Charlton.

As I said, I've done the homework. This is a record setting miss. Something not accomplished in 37 years.

Agreed. I wanted Takk McKinley in the first round in 2017, but he went a few picks before. This was definitely the first 1st rounder I was not excited about in some time, maybe 2008.

I need some help understanding something here. Why does dallas not get something out of him. I know a team can use him. A 6th 7th? From my understanding they say we are releasing him regardless but does anyone want to trade us a draft pick!?

It ruined an otherwise great draft night. I have a friend who throws an incredible draft party. I mean he really rolls out the red carpet. Exotic and delicious food, craft beers. Hell, he even prints up menus for both. It was an awesome night and I was ecstatic to see TJ Watt somehow getting to our pick. And then I hear 'Taco Charlton' and my evening is ruined.

It sucks to be onboard a ship and see the iceberg coming and the boat hits it anyway.

No. The Cowboys have been trying to trade him for months and couldn't get anything.

What team, other than one that has a need due to injury, is going to waste a roster spot on this moron?

Taco probably skated through CFB on pure physical ability and got into the pro's where everyone is skilled and when he didn't didn't find success he blamed the team and or coaches. A change of scenery might do him well and provide the kick in the pants he needs. And if he does turn it around people here need to remember even if we were to have kept him he may have never turned it around here.

Most of this board hated the pick to be honest, I would say over 90% wanted Watts little brother.

That is what is so hilarious when a certain group of fan boy posters on here always say "the organization knows better than you keyboard warriors". When that happens again, I will just post a pic of Taco.

Exactly. These guys who pick players don't have super powers. Any fan who watches enough college football knows whose who in college and who can play. There guess is as good as anyones. Tristy hill is another one the team is going to regret. Another college head case/project that we wasted a valuable pick on.

Yeah. Really. While homers like you try - and fail - to minimize it.

Gloss over it because you’re not mature enough to handle the criticism.

Gloss over the fact that a first round pick hasn’t been cut this fast in 37 years.

And you make lame excuses if you feel you have to.
Homer … lover … hater …

3rd grade?

Your entire "criticism" is that I refuse to fall to pieces over the team making a bad draft pick, as happens to every team, and you insist that I have to fall to pieces like you do or else you are going to put silly little labels on me. If launching into melodrama like a teenage girl is what you call "mature", and failing to do so is worthy of criticism, well, I guess you will just have to accept we view things differently.

The Cowboys made a bad pick, both from the standpoint of talent and attitude, but how does us freaking out about it help the situation? The goal would be to learn from it and do better in the future. I'm not sure what else you think there is to do.

But if you want to panic and treat it as a tragedy, feel free. Just leave me out of it.

The "teenage girl" is the one that can't handle accountability. And clearly you and the rest of the Super Fans trying to cook up one lame excuse after another can't handle that accountability. Look at yourself.

Yeah, your "teenage girl" comment reeks of this maturity you try to claim. Real 'high road' stuff from you there.

Here's the deal. This cut was admission of a colossal failure. One that us "clueless fans" all saw coming miles away. But of course, we were told by folks like you that "the Cowboys know better than YOU do". More of the endless cycle of excuse making.

And this record setting draft failure is not anything that should be minimized or glossed over. There should be consequences and accountability within this organization. And I don't want to hear from any fans trying to make excuses or downplay it, because that doesn't happen in the real world. This isn't just "some mistake".

Exactly my point. Dallas does this all the time. They could of kept this cut under the radar by not telling the world there buisness. I dont know i just think they show there hand too much instead of bluffing!

This reminds me of a DB from years ago we took in the 3rd round and his response was, "I couldn't believe they took me there".

I want to say it was Kenny Wheaton, but I'm not sure

I don't see how we put up with Greg Hardy...but gave up on this guy after he was flashing in the pre-season.

I didn't mean Greg Hardy. We did take a chance on him. Taco hasn't committed any crimes, he's just a loudmouth and thinks he is better than he is. Just pointing out that the Cowboys have put up with players like this before (players with attitude issues, not players who commit domestic violence).

The issue is that those players were a lot more talented than Taco.

lol - see, there you go, panicking is mature, and dealing with a mistake rationally and of sound mind is a teenage girl …

Boy, are you backward!

Your ridiculous commentary suggests that I failed to acknowledge the pick was bad, and that I think the bad pick should be ignored by the team. I have not said that, and in fact have repeatedly said it was a bad pick that they need to learn from and do everything they can to not repeat it.

It seems you don't understand that you and I aren't the team. Saying it doesn't bother me that the team doesn't bat 1.000 in the draft does not speak for the team.

The thing you apparently miss is that we actually aren't disagreeing about the Cowboys making a mistake on Taco (as much as you try to promote that false narrative). And hell, I never even said there shouldn't be accountability. I simply said it doesn't bother me that the team doesn't bat 1.000 in the draft, and you've been stomping around like a spoiled child who doesn't get his way ever since.

"Dealing with it"? How exactly? By trying to downplay and ignore it? Yep. Exceeding maturity there. Pretended it never happens, maybe it will just go away?

Saying it doesn't bother you is either disingenuous or an indictment of any credibility you might have. It "suggests" that you are a mindless sheep, incapable of thinking for yourself and content to just go with the flow and whichever way the river takes them. Is that really who you are?

Then I'd say that you were lying. Or as I mentioned above, someone who is content to be told what to think. But I don't think that's the case. I think that like many, you have a Cowboys defense mechanism that forces you to try to make excuses to yourself and anyone who will listen, when things go bad for this team. I've seen the like a million times.
