After a player heals physically they still have to battle mental issues and just realize that they've healed.

The lack of a pass rush has been easy to see in these first two games. Where has Lawrence been?
Is his injury still holding him back ? I like Lawrence, but I didn’t care for his contract
. He has always been a streaky type of player, but I kind of expected more out of him. I was hoping that he was wanting to prove that he deserves big money. What’s your opinion?
He got paid up s what is wrong with him

He played fine for not taking a snap in the off-season. He just had surgery. The one thing I would have criticized the surgery timing.
He was disruptive, caused bad throws and if the secondary could catch a cold we would have had 3 turnovers. He'll pick it up.
Soe fans just look at the box score and suggest that it's about sacks.

I agree with you. I like Lawrence too but he hasn't been the same this season. I can't help but wonder if he just needs more time after his shoulder surgery or did getting that big contract ruin him. I don't know the answer but he needs to do better next month when the games get harder.

I'll say it. I don't care for his contract at all. Love the player but would have liked him for around $17 million a year. I think it was Dallas putting in all their chips in the middle and going for a Super Bowl. I do think if you are making $20 million as a defensive player you need to be causing chaos the whole game. That being said, the others need to make sure they step it up too not just Tank. I personally think right now we have an okay DL. It's not bad but it's not great either. Just kind of in the middle. Is it good enough to win a Super Bowl? We will see. Have to get turnovers and sacks in big moments. I think Robert Quinn is going to make everyone on the DLine better. Let's see how he does and how it helps Tank Lawrence.

I'm sure D-Law's progress is something that will be closely monitored by everyone. He had the type of surgery (torn labrum) that requires a good deal of time to rebound from. I'm expecting his recovery to be a very gradual ordeal, whereby incremental progress is all that can be expected. He'll likely return to his former productivity, although, some of us will have doubts about it in the meantime. Patience, don't be overly upset if it takes much longer than what we're comfortable with.
He should’ve had the surgery THEN worry about getting paid. So far, he’s been the toughest against an opponent when he told the 8 year old Giants fan “Wrong jersey, son.”

DLaws problem is fans don't know what they're looking at and instead evaluate by stat lines.

He had 3 pressures and a hit last Sunday. It should've been two hits but for that weak call on a good rush.

He was getting good penetration and set a nice edge.

I am concerned that Lawrence may be one of those guys, but it is too early to tell. On a previous post, it was mentioned that out of his ten sacks, three cane in one game. His contract and his production don’t match up. Lawrence has always ran really hot or really cold. If Lawrence would have had the surgery at the end of last season instead of using it as a tool in negotiations, he could have contributed at a higher level to start the year off.

It really gets old every year knowing that the DL and safety positions are problems on the defense. Drafting Hill was an attempt to improve the situation, but Dallas passed in some very good safety prospects to draft a DL that is a project player that has a long way to go before developing into a decent player.

Both have been well documented, without a doubt. Obviously, he's no choir boy, despite apologizing for the incident with the boy. Holding his surgery for his shoulder injury surely wasn't in the team's best interest, no doubt. Yet, he got his contract and he's still on the roster and very likely to still be the most productive DE on our roster, along with Robert Quinn. You didn't expect him to be cut for that stuff, did you? Thought so.

He is pressuring, just not getting home. Part of that may be due to the lack of presence from the opposite side.

The difference between quite a few here and the coaching staffs their facing is that they don't think so highly of this DL. All off season I saw these rave reviews about an average DL and how some of our guys will end up starting for other teams and I wondered 'what am I missing'? This DL was not good last season and they've added one player that was inconsistent with his old team and the assumption is that all players improve....and they do not. This team hasn't fixed the problem with the DT's and it's time to stop letting Marinelli share in picking players and thinking that cutesy stunting is real defense. All he's done since he's been in Dallas is try to put a thong on the warthog and he's failed doing that.

Lawrence is the best DL on a very average DL and if they're going to get pressure, they're going to have to stop playing not to lose and take chances. I would find out right now if Richard can be the DC by putting him in charge and Marinelli on the DL, answering to Richard and Garrett. He has no business being a DC and never has. His claim to fame was with loaded DL's and front 7's that I could have coached. If Marinelli doesn't like it, let him walk.

The Cowboys have played two immobile QB's and have 2 sacks and no picks, does this look familiar? I am as happy about the offense as anyone but to overlook what the real challenge with this team is escapes me. This D is not as good as it was last year and it was average, at best, then. And those two all world stud LB's don't even look all division. The best part of the D is the back end but they're going to need some front end help as the season progresses.

He was coached by his agent to play the only leverage he had, I don't fault him. I fault the FO for not putting better players around him. We hope Quinn makes a difference and maybe Gregory can come back but those DT's are the weak part of the D.
