1. We're 2-0, almost sure to go 3-0 this coming Sunday, which gives us a great chance, statistically, of making the playoffs.

2. Our young QB appears to have taken a massive step forward and is playing at an elite level that only 1 or 2 other QBs in the league are matching.

3. We have weapons all over the place, to the point that losing a guy like Gallup for a few weeks is disappointing but the disappointment is offset by getting the chance to see a bit more of our other promising young WRs like Smith and Wilson.

4. Our rookie OC has lived up to the billing so far by injecting creativity and big play potential into the offense.

5. The defense hasn't hit its stride yet but we're still getting off the field (holding opponents to a very low 3rd down conversion rate) and keeping the opposition from scoring. The pass rush has been a bit disappointing but it's about to get a big boost with the addition of Robert Quinn, who led the league last season in beating his man.

Feel free to add anything I've omitted. In the circumstances, all the whining about our only 1st round bust in the past 6 years seems more than 'glass half empty'. We've got people with their panties in a bunch because there's a sip that's been taken from our otherwise overflowing cup.

What I don't get is why wail about this now? Hell, Charleton was a dud from the get go with too many expecting him to take the next step just because of where he was drafted. So they blew a 1st round pick, take a look at that OL, home runs all 3.

Outlaw, from the headline, one wouldn't suspect our team is alone at the top of the East and tied for the best record in the conference. It is laughable that anyone can find anything to complain about.

The two major unknowns going into this season, the OC and the QB and I'd say that looks pretty swell after two games, regardless of who they've played. We'll get to see better opposition in games 4 and 5 and have a better feel for how good this offense and team are.

If anyone is all morose about blowing the pick with Charleton, I have 3 words for them. Twenty O Nine. Hell, they blew an entire draft.

We have a good enough team and play caller to compete with just about anybody in the league...

Nailed it. I’ve spent the past few days marvelling at all the negativity on this board. This is a time for optimism and excitement.

I'd say they can compete with anybody. Not necessarily win because that funny shaped ball takes funny bounces but they're in the mix at this pint ans a true contender.

You left out:
6. Our QB has developed an awesome stiff arm. Just ask Josh Norman.

Man, if we can't get excited about this, we just don't want to be happy. So what if it goes south?

If it goes south I’ll need to take a vacation. From this place. I’m having enough trouble dealing with the negativity when times are good.

Giants, Eagles, and especially Washington, are all looking up at the Cowboys in the NFC East standing. Any day that is true is a good day.

I have been a member of the site since 2004. And your thread is very young. Trust me. Pessimism will set a course straight here once it hits its sensors at warp factor 9.

Taco who? I moved on the moment I learned of it.

It goes beyond improved play/throwing mechanics from Dak and better play calling from Kellen Moore. They aren't motioning and shifting only to get the defense to expose their intent (man/zone/who's the mike). There is a clear and concerted effort happening before the game to gain an understanding of how the opposing defenses respond to various shifts and lineups. They are then using this understanding to plan their attack.

As much as I would like to give credit to Dak for orchestrating all those motions and shifts that happen presnap, in reality, what is happening before are very eyes is a very deep understanding of what plays have the best chance to succeed against certain lineups the opposition likes to respond with. All the motions and shifts are actually a part of the play design from the get go. They are forcing the defense to move their pieces to a place that gives the called play the greatest chance to succeed. Knowing this, we fans can be ridiculously encouraged about the Cowboys offense ability to duplicate this against literally any team.

Granted, certain teams like the Bears will make it difficult on them, but if their offense can't get anything done against ours, it's only a matter of time before this loaded offense springs a leak.

I know. (I’ve been a member that long too.) But I still wanted to give those of us who appreciate sunshine an opportunity to take a bit of cover from all the rain.

I am enjoying the ride but realize the path has some rapids in a couple of weeks.
