If it were allowed, I can bring up the names and posts of several posters that like to try to tell people like they know something who constantly defended Linehan. Now? Not a peep! Like it never happened. We all make mistakes, but some can own up to them while some can't.

If you want a fun exercise take a trip down memory lane and find out who said what.

No reason to bring up past posters posts. ( I spit all over the place saying those last 3 words. lol)

What I would ask you guys ..... do you think Marinelli falls into this same category? I know I do. I’m not to that stage on Garrett though.

Why not? Should they simply be allowed to spew out the same totally wrong nonsense with no accountability for it as if it never happened? What happened to accountability?

Ex-Detroit coaches are Bad luck....but by the time they get rid of Marinelli, he'll probably be moving into Assisted Living. Not sure he isn't mostly a figure-head (motivational speaker) now anyways.

What annoyed me most about him, but doesn't seem to be talked about as much, is how infrequently he'd use Zeke in the RZ. Particularly inside the 5.

So I did some research.

[2018, Reg Season] % of their team’s plays each RB got the ball when their team was inside the 5…

Henry: 41%
Peterson: 33%
Gurley: 32%
Carson: 32%
McCaffrey: 32%
Zeke: 24%!!

It seems like when this board gets a strong concensus we are usually right as a group. Linehan obviously was universally hated by most on this board. He is gone and it appears we were right again.
I didn’t HATE him. But you may see some posts saying I maybe did. Lol. But not personally. He called JG playbook and had his way of situational playcalling likely the way JG wanted him to. Now when Moore was hired JJ said he wanted change and said as much. Went as far as saying if JG or anyone got in the way to come see him. JG is a lame duck coach. If Moore’s Offense takes this team further than Linehan then it just makes JG look better to other teams. When someone else takes over then another team will take a chance on him. I do believe if JG is let go he will go on to be HC somewhere else.

Linehan started out great. The offense improved simply because Garrett and his pass happy ways were abandoned. We finally had some balance to the offense and saw more 3 and 4 WR formations and WR screens once in a while.

But he too became too predictable, plodding, and lacked aggression. Not sure how much of that was Garrett.

Having a good season or two isn't good enough. You have to evolve once teams figure you out. Neither Garrett or Linehan could do that.

Loving the new WR pairings and routes but I think Moore's getting credit for some things that Kitna did,,, having an accurate QB makes all the difference in the world,,, that and decent pass protection

The biggest difference I see so far is the Oline is healthy and giving Dak all day and a clean pocket to throw from. He didn't have that last year. Fred's back, Tyranasuarus is healthy and La'il is playing lights out.

We did leave so many points on the board last year due to just execution.

Olawale vs Colts
Beasley at Falcons
Dak taking sacks at the end of first half to take out of FG range
Gallup drop vs Panthers
Dak overthrow to Gallup vs Saints and at least 2 or 3 others

The biggest reason the team is playing better this year is partly because of Moore but mostly KITNA like I’ve said all offseason. Dak looks like a completely different quarterback. You can have the greatest plays in the world but if QB is overthrowing or OL isn’t holding up then play designs don’t matter.

Dak has only been PRESSURED 6 times this year. Last year he was SACKED 6 times through 2 games.
I don’t expect Dallas’s level of play to continue after the first three games which are games that they are facing horrendous teams.

where is Scott Linehan... and TWill nowadays ?

Both where they should be, nowhere.

Looking back on Linehan's NFL career I honestly fail to see what a lot of coaching staffs and FO's saw in him. He had failure in most places he went, extremely so in his one head coaching stint where they buried the Greatest Show on Turf. He was called one dimensional when he got a, what, fourth chance in Detroit and did ok with Stafford and Megatron.

I think he's pretty much done in the NFL.

There are a number of things that really turned out great for us,,, Moore looks totally capable, La'el got signed at a good price AND he's playing even better, Dak got over the hump, Gallup looks fantastic, Connor Williams improving. Things are really clicking into place,,, . :)

Scott (and Garrett) for that matter get more hate from this board than is warranted. Scott lacked in creativity but if you look at the totality of the offensive performance of the cowboys since Jason arrived on the scene....we have been comfortably better than average almost always and pretty damn close to elite more than our fair share.

Absolutely. But at some point you have to incorporate new ideas and change it up. Other opposing players have said there is no game plan for us. You know what they are going to do, you just have to stop it.
