This was a little video interview with Taco in the locker-room about 5 weeks ago (Aug 11th).

It's fairly obvious why he failed, IMO.

Paraphrasing some of his comments:
0:48
(Some player in the background blurts out) "I like you Taco" after Taco had repeated multiple times that "they" don't like me cuz they didn't like me from the beginning (referring to fans and the twitter universe).

Taco thinks the player was laughing with him, but I think the player might have been laughing at him, but it does not matter, just my opinion.

(Talking about DLaw)...I follow what he do this summer...but last year I didn't get to play no left...but this year I get to play some on that side...hopefully I get back to what I did on that side my rookie year... 3 sacks.

Last year I didn't get to pass rush. That was Randy's job. I was a run stopper...I played base end...then Randy would come in and rush the passer...I had more of a responsibility to pass rush my rookie year...and I had 3 sacks.

He wanted sacks because that’s what gets a lot of them paid. Not interested in playing the run. Doesn’t want to be a complete DE. He is after a quick way to pay check. When you look at a DE then they look at the sack stat.

Taco is not a Cowboy. Can this be moved to the NFL zone?

The OP doesn't even offer any novel take. Just dumping on a player who, again, is no longer with us.

3 sacks?? Sounds like he had set the bar pretty low as to what he considered an accomplishment. Anyhow, good luck with the 'Fins!

Hey fellas (and suppose a few gals). First post. Look like a lot of activity here.

Devils advocate here. Even though he apparently didn't get along with RM, is there any validity to him not playing on his natural left side? Make no mistake I agree he never really seemed to fit in and some could say an attitude problem.

His best fit in the Marinelli defense and most 4-3 defenses would be at LDE because that where the power rushers usually play (against RTs) while the speed rushers usually play RDE (against LTs). It's not just left/right. The positions have different technique requirements. The LDE (Strong Side) is more of a 5-tech and the RDE (Weak Side) is more of a 7-tech.

Taco did play primarily at LDE in college.

The issue with the Cowboys obviously is that DLaw plays LDE.

Taco did play snaps at LDE in the playoff game against the Rams; although the specific snaps that I recall were against the run.

Having said all of that, there is not excuse for not doing what the coaches require.

The Cowboys have moved Crawford all over and he also would be best at LDE but he plays DT or RDE and often rotates between DE and DT during games. Crawford early on had wanted to keep his weight low if he was going to play DE or bulk up if he was going to play DT but multiple seasons he ended up playing exactly the opposite position that he had expected to play as he was preparing in the off-season. It's why he stays and has continued to start despite a salary that many fans think is too much relative to his abilities.

Taco just has a loser mentality.

Drafting a one year wonder and 47th percentile athlete in the 1st is sketchy enough as it is. Drafting a guy like that with attitude issues... no thanks.
