To have enough possessions to score 60, that means your defense has to get plenty of stops. Not just stops but 3 and outs. I don't see this prevent defense doing that. If a big lead is built up, they will just do the same and go into ultra prevent mode. Lots of short completions and yards that Rosen will rack up

If it happened to be 35-0 halfway through the 2nd quarter, how do you slam on the brakes?

If it is halfway through the 3rd quarter, 49-0, Zeke is benched but Pollard breaks through the line and there is nothing but daylight is he going to drop to the ground? If a pass floats into the hands of a backup CB and he has a clear shot to the end zone is he just going to slap the ball down?

I’m not saying the Cowboy should deliberately run up the score but you have a lot of quality backups itching to prove themselves when given the opportunity.

These type of situations are like feeding a tank full of piranhas. One takes a bite, another takes a bite, suddenly it’s a feeding frenzy.

In Super Bowl 27. The Cowboys should have scored 59 but Leon Lett lost focus and the ball was slapped out of his hands. They weren’t trying to run up the score but if the opportunity presents itself, no player is going to pass up an opportunity to shine.

Of course I realize we are talking about the Cowboys and it probably will go down as too close for comfort but I still think the potential exists for a college type blowout. We shall see.

A 60 point score would almost certainly include some defensive scoring.

Scoring 60 pts on the Dolphins does not prove anything. I'd expect somewhere the score to be in the 28-42 range. IMO it would be ideal to be up 4 scores in the 3rd and pull all the starters and key role players. Let the 3rd and 4th string players get reps.

Here’s to hoping that happens.

...tell you what, Fins aren't coming to Dallas to lay down for dead. They will put up a fight. Zeke was talking about that.

I do see Dallas putting up around 30.

I think the "unfairness" is exaggerated. This sort of situation has come up plenty of times before. The Dolphins have gone 1-15 before, the Cowboys have gone 1-15 before, the Panthers have gone 1-15 before, the Lions and Browns have each gone 0-16 before. In none of those seasons was there much of an outcry. It's simply a case of "let the chips fall where they may."

You might as well say that in the 2007 season, (the year the Patriots went 16-0 in the regular season,) that it was unfair to teams that had the Pats on their schedule. You just get lucky some times, and not so lucky other times.
In those other cases I had the feeling that those teams were still trying to win, but the players or the management was just incompetent, like when the Matt Milen was GM of the Lions. I don't think I've ever seen a team openly tank like the Dolphins are this season. They're not even pretending to want to win.

Dolphins ranked 32nd in almost every category including points for, points against, yardage, opponent yardage, turnovers, etc. their best RB averaging 2.3 yards a carry.

The Cowboys need to show a killer instinct and not play down to Dolphin level. I don’t ever recall the Cowboys scoring 60 in a game, I do remember 59.

If the Cowboys come out of the gate fast, they could control this game before the end of the 1st quarter. That would take the heart out of the Dolphins. They would have to be close to 60 before the end of the 3rd quarter when they sit the starters.....again, assuming they don’t decide to resurrect the Dolphins in one afternoon.
They won't.

Garrett will go to a prevent defense and backup players once they're up by 21 points.

Not their style. They showed mercy on the Giants in the 3rd Q. They won't look to embarrass Miami.

Let Elliot get his 100 yards in the first quarter.
Shoot, let Elliott get a dollar-50.
Dak gets 4-hunny and the defense shuts them out with 6 TO's.

Or it's going to be tough and players come to play and peeps are *****ing next week.
