Welp, it was fun while it lasted but the Braves broke the Mets

I place the blame squarely on @FloridaRob for getting too excited and jinxing us :lmao:

The damn Braves. I swear it has been the same thing for the last 40 years. Dale Murphy used to kill us, Chipper Jones owned us, and now Freddie Freeman is our daddy. Seriously, the Mets need to cheat their way to getting stars like Acuna, Albies and company the way the Braves did.

You got to admit, the two weeks prior to teh Braves series was fun but alas, it ends the way it begins, pure dissapointment. But Hey , football season starts next week.

It's my Braves way to break the hearts of the Mets with one guy.

Anyone else shocked the Red Sox fired Dave Dombrowski?

I'm not Mike. Red Sox have had a serious lack of young talent and have had this problem for a few years now, IMO. They are currently ranked near the bottom of all Major League teams in terms of talent in their farm system. Their FA signings have been ineffective for the most part as well. Boston wants to win.

Here we go! Mets 2.0 out of a wildcard with 17 games to go......can they repeat a 50th anniversary of the 1969 season? I’m not holding my breath but I never thought that they would even be in this position after June.

They swooshing sound you hear is Mets fans getting sucked back into the end of the season chase. Everybody is getting hot again. Todd Frazier, Cano, and other old geezers are swinging and hitting like they are 25. Go figure. I hope they are four games up by the time they play Atlanta the last three games of the year. We all know how that will work out if they arent.

Twins and Yanks are neck and neck for the all time MLB HR mark for a team in a season. The old mark was 267 I think, both teams have already surpassed that mark. Twins are at 288 and the Yanks are at 287. It's gonna come down to the wire. I don't think either team will challenge for the ALC, I'm a big believer in the old adage of Pitching beats Hitting and neither of those teams have the horses, IMO, to get it done in that area but I guess we'll see.

Twins probably have better pitching then the Yanks but they are still not a top 5 team so I don't know.

Does DeGrom win nl cy young for 2019. It is between him and Schertzer. A case can be made for both. I vote for degrom. No bias here. ;)

Nope, it will be Ryu from the Dodgers. DeGrom may have a nice ERA but he was nowhere near as dominant as last season.

what Duo would you prefer? The Braves Acuna and Albies or The Mets Alon50 and McNeal? The Braves two are much better athletes but the Mets guys hit the ball hard. If the Mets would have had even some semblance of a closer the 1st half of hte year, they would be neck and neck with the Braves for the division. Tough choice.
