Wilson shows flashes in preseason. "Lets play the one with starting experience against the Dolphins." Makes sense. I would be seeing what Wilson has in this High School game.

Wison can play both SS and FS but it's his lack of pro experience that is relevant to this thread. Thompson has more experience at FS so he is getting the opportunity to fill in for Woods. I'm sure Richard will monitor how that goes and if he doesn't like what he sees, he'll give Wilson a chance at FS. This thread really isn't about Wilson though. We have a published depth chart on the official Cowboys website. It says Thompson is Woods backup FS. The Cowboys are just following that published plan.

Thompson has 16 starts under him from 2107, so he is the right choice. It is not a preseason game where you want to see what the inexperienced player do.
I don't care what team or how bad they are. play the players that give you the best chance to win.
A few bad mistakes or turnovers can tip the balance the other way.

I guess if there was a game to do it then this is it. I am just not comfortable with this game. It could be a trap game if we leave them hanging around..

This isn't preseason anymore, Thompson is a veteran who knows where to line up the secondary so he should be starting over Wilson but if it's a blowout by halftime, then I'd like to see Wilson in there to give him some experience..

He played most of his preseason snaps at FS but they have plans for him to be the SS.
I think they played him at FS because he was most comfortable there based on how he played in college.
Hopefully he gets snaps in this game and hopefully those are at SS.

We'll see how Quinn does, probably will move Crawford to DT, Quinn will get some snaps at DE. Might see Hill at DT some also, will have to see who's inactive Sunday of course...

Thanks for helping clarify. It gets a little confusing when they list him at SS, play him at FS, and we interchange them some based on package.
