Be honest, is this defense good enough to win a Super Bowl?

Don't look up stats, what do your eyes tell you?

If not, should Jerry remain patient or be aggressive and make a trade(s)?

I'm looking for opinions from posters that actually watch football around the league and know what's waiting for us in the playoffs.

IMO- Not the right question after 3 games. Let’s wait until we’ve seen this team face different kinds of opponents and face different kinds of adversity. You wouldn’t give a student a final grade in September without finishing the course. Why would we judge this D after 3 games?

Right now I just want to beat the aints.

Two games into the season is way too early to make a definitive evaluation, but the defense will need to improve to give the Cowboys its best chance to win it all. If we get 6-7 games in and improvement hasn't come we may need to evaluate and see of there is a deal that makes sense that can help - much like we did when we decided to make a deal for Cooper last year.

Not yet. But lets hope we see improvement. Not enough pressure on the DL or explosive plays in general. LBs aren't making plays.

I'll say not yet as well.

We have the answers defensively to be a top tier NFL defense but we just haven't seen it yet.

We've missed almost every opportunity for a turnover this year, our pass rush has not been very good, and our linebackers have not played to their standard yet.

Dallas defense is currently underachieving. The overall results have been good enough but they aren't close to hitting on all cylinders.

The addition of Robert Quinn looks like a big one though. He was screaming off the edge yesterday. So quick.

The defense is what it is.

I think it's time to start asking ourselves is the offense good enough to win a SB. And based on what I have seen around the league......

Yes.

Raise your hand if you thought 3 games into the season, fans would have major concerns about our D instead of the offense. What's interesting is we have same starters from last year.

Honestly, I don't know yet. The NFL is different now. You don't hit as much as you used to in the Off Season. Used to be that Defenses were ahead of Offenses to start seasons. Now, I'm not so sure that's true. I think that might have flipped or it might be in the process of that. Either way, I don't think we know yet. We need to see them against a quality QB with a good Offense. I will say this, Miami left a LOT of points on the field yesterday. We are lucky that they are not a well coached team because they had opportunities.

I think they'd have the pass rush to get to Brady when all our guys are healthy. I also think they would have the lateral quickness to move around with a guy like mahomes (not stop obviously) and the chiefs offense. I think teams that would really bother us would be power type running teams like we saw against the rams last year. Its about matchups In my opinion.

On all three levels we have talent. It just hasn't come together yet this season. Lets talk after New Orleans and Green Bay.

I currently see us as a unit that very effectively plays the bend-but-don’t-break approach. We will force stops and will regularly hold teams to acceptable point totals, but are unlikely to force sudden change-of-possession type plays that impact a game.

Is it good enough? Guess that depends on whether the offense can perform at a higher level than it did in last year’s playoff loss.

Is that how the NFL works? Just defenses play in the playoffs? What do the offensive players do? Do they get free tickets to the game at least? I'm curious.
