Be honest, is this defense good enough to win a Super Bowl?

Yes. Some of the Patriots defenses were bad and the 2009 Saints defense wasn’t very good.

Don't look up stats, what do your eyes tell you?

If not, should Jerry remain patient or be aggressive and make a trade(s)?

I'm looking for opinions from posters that actually watch football around the league and know what's waiting for us in the playoffs.

If we are being honest, no, not a chance. What happened in the first half yesterday against an inferior opponent cannot happen against the Saints, Packers, Pats, Eagles etc. The defense also started "slow" against the Skins and the Gmen. I don't think it is a bad defense, but I think we are vulnerable to the high-powered offenses of the league.

I'll say not yet as well.

We have the answers defensively to be a top tier NFL defense but we just haven't seen it yet.

We've missed almost every opportunity for a turnover this year, our pass rush has not been very good, and our linebackers have not played to their standard yet.

Dallas defense is currently underachieving. The overall results have been good enough but they aren't close to hitting on all cylinders.

The addition of Robert Quinn looks like a big one though. He was screaming off the edge yesterday. So quick.
If we can make a trade for Adams I am all in on it. Im willing to do a 1st Chido/Lewis and a 3rd for him.

Too early to ask that question. Yes they have given up more yards than we like but we are holding teams to just under 19 points. We are averaging 31 points on offense and opponents are averaging 19 points against us. That's a win and I'll take it.

This is always interesting.

The stats don't back up what my eyes are telling me. Could my 'eyes' and 'memory' be wrong? No, no... it has to be the stats that are wrong.

I would say no, as of right now. We are not rolling like we were last season and with key people missing out in camp and nursing injuries, I think it's going to get worse before it gets any better. Although I'm happy with only giving up six points yesterday considering how sloppy we played.

This defense didn't hit its stride until about half way through the season last year. I'd expect the same this year.

Yes, what we don't have is the coaching. Playing like a bunch of individuals. That needs to get fixed soon

On any given day.....

To many questions to be asked on both sides of the ball after playing three terrible teams.

1) How will the offense roll against a mediocre, good, elite defense. We have played bottom of the barrel defensive teams.Dak might as well bring a lawn chair to set up with the amount of time he has to throw the ball

2) Run defense? Turnovers? Pass rush? Has all looked mediocre against two of the worst olines in football.

Hell look what happened to the Patriots defense against the eagles.

No the D is not good enough to win a championship and no Jeery should NOT sit on his hands. Start churning.
Rodgers, Wilson, Goff and Breeze (if available) will tear this D apart. We have played the lowest tier QB's/offenses in the league so far and looked ok. Just wait until we play GB. That will tell us a lot about this defense.

My eyes tell me your eyes need glasses. The Cowboys defense is not only good enough to win a Super Bowl, they will win SB LIV in Miami.

So far they have got it done. Maybe they are not showing there hand yet and playing vanilla, just getting off the field on 3rd downs.

Today's NFL is primed for offenses to succeed, so shutdown defenses no longer exist. Right now we dont know what kind of defense we have until we play a great offense and even then they may give up yards and we may still win because of our offense. Just the way the league is today, look at what happened to the great Baltimore defense yesterday.

Not right now, no. But they can improve. Let’s hope they do cause this offense is legit.

Just remember, to win a Super Bowl you don’t have to be the best team in the league. You just have to be the better team on the field that day.

We're really not. Gnats and Phins shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. We really didn't "hold them".
