If I were comparing Mahomes to any QB in the past, that would be Marino. Both came to good teams with good coaching and talent at the skill positions and it was all about the pass game.

Mahomes shares one thing with all of them, hit them in the mouth and they're not so shiny anymore. Right now, he's riding the crest of the wave but that can come crashing into the shore in the blink of an eye.

Peak Aaron Rodgers (2011-2014 or so) is the best QB play I've seen since mid 1980s Marino -- maybe even better. Mahomes looks to be even better.

It's crazy how effortless Mahomes make it look.

Yep, doesn't even look like he's breaking a sweat back there. Mahomes has that same zip on the ball that Marino had and Rodgers has. All three can let it fly with little wind up which makes it even tougher to defend them. I can recall defenders saying they didn't even see Marino's arm move and the ball was gone. If they were calling all of the protective calls they are today for QB's, Marino would have even gaudier stats because the rushers would have to hold up a little to make sure he still has the ball before hitting him.

talent like mahomes is easy to see. The guy is a beast... lose Tyreke Hill and dont miss a beat, lose Hunt last year, dont miss a beat. He is a perfect example of how a WR is absolutely made by a great qb. Look at his WRs..... all of them are flat out balling.

Same with Reid. If Reid was so great, why didnt the chiefs have this kind of explosive offense before Mahomes arrived? Now Mahomes shows up and all we hear about is how Reid is some great play caller.... gtoh.

I could call plays with Mahomes back there.

You do realize the KC radio meatballs called out Troy in their fandom for Mahomes right?
Yup I do, he is ballin and nothing wrong with their fan base to get excited about their QB. We do it here as well. I don't understand why people cant be humble about their achievements. Its not like Troy is the best QB in the history of the NFL. In fact people would argue he was the best for our team. It would have been a different story if Mahomes said that. It was their radio, so be it.

He won 3 super bowls for us, and he did so playing beautifully. And you are calling him an arrogant redneck?! His point was simple, that throwing so many TD's is meaningless if it does not translate to super bowl victories. In fact in Mahomes case I think it is a sign of an imbalanced offense. I'll take the balance of Dallas's offense from Aikman's era and todays team, every time.
Troy was a great qb. Deserving of his hof status. His comment, however, was less than gracious. Imagine staubach dissing troy after his first season of 1-15. Troy made no analyses with his comment. He just bragged on himself.

Troy has always been humble and three games against scrubs doesn’t prove him wrong. It is sad how one comment from him made all the Daksexuals hate him.
We seem to define humility differently. No harm, no foul. Many here still deny dak has shown marked improvement this year. We see what we want.

The kid is special for sure. They love him like no other here in KC. He does a lot for KC off the field especially spending an enormous amount time in children's hospitals visiting the kids. I may be a die hard Cowboy fan but living in KC and seeing his generosity that isn't broadcast nationally brings a smile to my heart.

It's funny... a lot of you defend Aikman by saying stats mean nothing & it's all about SB's..... but than you point to Dak and praise him for having good stats with no SB's. Truth is they both are good indicators of a good QB. I thank Aikman for bringing 3 SB's to Dallas. And I understand that most of the stats went to Emmitt. Nowadays even rookie QB's have good stats. The NFL has become the equivalent of arena football. Dak having good stats is better than Dak having bad stats. Mahomes having great stats is impressive. Aikman & Mahomes were or are both great QB's.

they were starting to do this while Mahomes was rookie on the bench and Smith was balling pretty well, for sure they were going deep a lot more..had great year.. the fact that Reid was brave enough to cut alex after a great year and see what he had and risk with Mahomes and build an offense around mahomes makes him great coach..

He built a system that can be plug and play to help Mahomes who is great even better..

Actually it was because Tech wouldn't give him a scholarship after he won the starting job before Mahomes was even at Tech. They weren't even on the same roster at Tech. Baker left before Mahomes enrolled at Tech. And Mahomes didn't even beat out Davis Webb as a freshman.

Upon further review, I stand corrected in part. (Kingsberry denies the scholarship issue, but others vouch for it. ) And, you are right about them not being there at the same time. But. I believe Mahomes is the better QB, and would have started ahead of Mayfield at Tech.

What? Troy was not critical at all of Mahomes. He has lavished praise on Mahomes. His comment was directed at the idiot who made a stupid statement. There was no "dissing" of Mahomes. He was responding to having been insulted by a guy at a news paper looking to be insulting. And he did so beautifully. It was an asinine insult. Attempting to elevate Mahomes status unnecessarily by denigrating Troy, in a way that made no sense. Troy did exactly what was needed of him to propel likely the greatest football team ever in NFL history. If he had needed to throw many more TD's he would have. Troy was only in my opinion, the second greatest money (playoff) quarterback in history, to Montana. If someone had insulted Staubach and done so stupidly, no one would be surprised if he defended himself.

Which is why grown men over 30 shouldnt be on Twitter, Facebook and Exchangegram
Lol. People still have this outdated way of thinking? So every one on this message board should give up and stop? Both are public platforms to express opinions. Just different setups. What does age have to do with being online? The world is now connected online. Deal with it. This idea that you are too old for it is asinine.
