Witten TDs should be Jarwin’s

Then why wasn't Jarwin catching those TD passes last year? The new offense I'm guessing is your opinion. Mine is Witten knows how to get open. Especially against zone coverage in the redzone. Speed is little help in those tight areas. You need a guy that understands the spots to attack.

Thank you!

I should have changed the thread Title. Im not talking about just scoring but catching the ball in general. The YAC would be much better with Jarwin.

They have used Witten beautifully. When needed. Nothing more really. They use him against zone coverage. Something they struggled with in the past. Most teams play zone when they get backed into the redzone. Witten knows how to get in the open spot. Why do you think their redzone offense sucked last year... because Jarwin has not perfected that craft. Hopefully he will eventually

Witten catches the ball and falls down. Jarwin catches the ball and takes off. Get my drift?
How many chose #82 in Fantasy Football this year? Much less any te that played for the Cowboys in 5-6 years?

None of #82s fans want to talk black n white stats. I like #82 also but why does #82 have to be on the field when Jarwin is on passing downs? Thats just ignorant. This is a poor choice of personnel groups for passing downs.

Witten can block and has better mechanics and makes few mistakes but hes offers no firepower as a receiver because hes slow as molasses and cant score beans. Hes like a pawn in chess because he cant win the Game w his skillsets very often. We need him on a limited basis as a receiver.

Jarwin has good speed but his mechanics suck. Hes not a great route runner and has a low open rate. He has better racs than 82 and bigger play capabilities but his open rate and catch are poor and his blocking skills are not very good either.

My take is that neither are that great and neither should be on the field at the same time EVER!!!! If they are they need to be substituting for each other not anybody else.

WE HAVE BETTER SLOT WRS AND RBS SO THERES NO REASON FOR THESE DUAL TE FORMATIONS WHATSOEVER!!! ESPECIALLY ON PASSING DOWNS.

Neither excel as receivers at all against .500 teams and they always come back empty handed on critical passing downs. I can remember games that were won offensively at receiving by our wide receivers and rbs but when I try to remember a game where our te dominated a top defender or made the game winning play im left with a blank and you know #82 played every passing snap for 15 yrs.

Theres very little sauce period when the Game is on the line. We're better off going 4-5 wide with our best 4-5 skilled players and set all of these tes down on critical passing plays.

If i had to choose 1 te Id go with Jarwin. But I'd be using no 12 personnell group formations whatsoever and less 11 personell groups and Id roll with 10 personell using rbs and slot wrs.

Am I the only one that thinks Jarwin should be getting these TD tosses in the redzone instead of Witten? Witten runs about a 6 second forty and Jarwin is said to be a natural athletic freak. I mean, get Jarwin going and keep him going. We need someone who can run after the catch. Dallas did Witten a favor by letting him come back. WE DON"T NEED HIM! I love Witten but come playoff time I want Jarwin catching those balls. They need to get Jarwin more involved in this offense! Get him ready for the post season. I guess what i'm trying to say is if Kellen Moore would start targeting Jarwin more he could possibly be one of the leagues best TE's. I hate to sound like i'm bashing on Witten but good God he can't run. How many teams would have let him come back? Not many ...rant over

Is that you, Jarwin? Fess up.

Wasn't it a QB roll out te out play where Dak either keeps it or throws it?

I think any te can run that
Who really cares who score's? It's a TD, Wittens leadership ALONE helps this team 10X what Jarwin can bring. Jarwin does what he is told, Witten can read a defense and make a play without being told what to do!

He can be a leader on the sideline, while other tight ends develop

Jarwin has 32 receptions for 371 yards and 4 TDs in 3 years. Witten was not around last year, Jarwins best year does not sniff Wittens worst year!

This might be the dumbest thread I've seen all season. I really don't understand the whole, "Witten is slow" arguement. He's ALWAYS been slow lol. His value is in run blocking, route running, & catching ability. Jarwin couldn't carry his jockstrap.

This OP comes off like a dad screaming from the bleachers
"Put my boy in the game!"... smh/lol

Witten had catches of 18 and 33 yards in the last two games.
(And, by the way, Witten almost always scores against the Giants, as he did in week 1)

His game has never been about speed, always leverage and precision
in route running. It will put him in Canton one day.

I hope Witten breaks the career td receptions team record.
Because records are made to be broken.

You have to remember Dallas came to him and asked him back.
I'm guessing they felt they really needed him, ya think!?!

Dak raves about having Witten back. The team wants him here.

Jarwin is progressing just fine. It's not like they're keeping Gronk or Travis Kelce on the sideline.

Wow... actually complaining about touchdowns... AND YOUR team is 3-0.

smh... wow.

This has to win the all time complaint on this forum... hands down.

Sadly, this probably doesn't make the top ten on this board. (lol)
However, it was somewhat unique. I especially liked how it went from hating that Witten scored TDs
to saying Jarwin would get more YAC.

Kudos to @Corso for posting the new and useful YAT (Yards After Touchdown)
which surely will soon be included in the all mighty PFF alphabet soup rankings... lol

I guess complaining about who gets to score is an awesome problem to have.

The thing is, Witten has never been fast. He is one of the greatest TE's of all time because he catches everything, is really good at timing his change of direction to get separation and knows where the open spots will be. Jarwin just doesn't have Jason's timing and shiftiness. Even though he is faster, he isn't going to be open as much as Witten.

Witten is really been unsung this year. IMO, him being back is just one piece in the puzzle that has drastically improved the offense. Personally, I feel that its better than the stats show because all three games were blowouts. If Dallas was getting into 60 minute long shootouts, I think they could be dropping 40+ regularly. The offensive improvements are legion: Dak, the o-line, the WR's, Witten, Pollard, Moore, etc.

The two times I saw Jarwin on Sunday were both bad plays, one was a high throw that went right through his hands, can't remember the other but it was negative.

I get the rant, I do think Jarwin is a keeper and should be getting more touches, But it's a moot point because if JWub is catching TD's it just doesn't matter. If they want to roll with Wit one more time, I'm good with that too. He deserves a shot at a ring as much as anyone.

Jarwin's time will come, maybe later this year, maybe next season.
