Nobody is saying he had a good first half. But you don't judge a QB on a half of football. If you want to judge a QB on one game, at least look at the whole game. I think he made up for the poor first half in the second half. .......and the Dolphins have a long way to go to match Marinelli's Detroit team.

When you play a historically bad team with a totally clean pocket and an effective running game, you better not lay an egg for a half if you think you're a top QB.

I don't like the way they grade rbs b/c rbs are not judged on a play by play basis which is how PFF grades. If Zeke goes for 3.5 YPC his first 10 carries and then busts a 65 yard TD run, PFF metrics don't weight the one carry. They look at it like he was great 1 out of 11 carries.
A game where a RB is, say, 23/82 can be a good game, depending on the D being faced and how effective the ball control was.

First possession- three points..
Second possession- TD
Third possession- int.
Fourth possession. Punt.
Fifth possession. End of half.

A 22 yard catch by Cobb was called back on our fourth possession. We eventually had to punt on our fourth possession because Dak was under pressure and had to throw it short on third down.

So basically you're saying Dak is not a top QB because of one bad throw. I mean we only had five possessions. The first two ended with points. Could have had points on our fourth possession but it was derailed due to a penalty and pressure. Our fifth possession started at our own 4 with 53 seconds left in the half.

So when I look at it, you are basically saying Dak is not a top QB because of one throw.

Miami was winning the time of possession battle in the first half, but Dak sucks right. Off of one bad throw.

It might be, but that one stat doesn't prove it at all.

Definitely not.

It's that stat in conjunction with elusivness, broken tackles, yards after contact per carry, yards after the catch, success rate, the success of other RBs behind this line, amount of defenders in the box, explosive plays, his expected points added etc etc etc

You can see why we don't take those seriously that claim Zeke is the best RB simply because he was able to carry the ball a ton of times.

A deeper dive into his performance suggests he's closer to a top 12 RB than a top 2 RB, but I also think that Linehan effected him negatively. Although watching him this year and he being unable to get past first contact 90% of the time is concerning.

So yes, one stat doesnt tell the story, so I never want to hear the words "rushing champ" ever again.

PFF is better than 90% of posters on here th

Fans on here perception of Zeke and his actual difference in games is soooooooo wide

1. The sample size between the two is more than enough to negate the numbers.
2. All this tells me is that teams sell out against the run when it comes to the Cowboys. Is this the RB or the line or a combination of the two.

If you don't think there's a difference between the two backs then you've just got blinders on.

1. You should only negate the numbers if you have an agenda. 3 games, two of which Pollard got extensive run in is definitely enough to start comparing numbers.
2. No the whole league sells out against every opponent on play action, this isnt exclusive to the Cowboys at all. Dak and the passing weapons are just better than many others in the league.

I absolutely see a difference between the two backs, one is better in short yardage situations, the other is much more explosive and actually makes defenders miss. Not noticing these things would mean you have blinders on.

Based on PFF grades

Stock up

1. La'El Collins - #1 ranked tackle through 3 weeks . ( Potential finally being fullfilled)
2. Dak - #2 ranked QB (big money coming)
3. Tyron Smith - #3 ranked tackle (back to his old form)
4. Zach - #5 ranked G . (kinda low for him)
5. Gallup - #4 ranked wr . ( might need an extension.......soon)

Stock Down

1. Jaylon Smith - 62nd ranked LB . ( Something's up)
2. Travis Frederick - 15th ranked center . (not back yet)
3. Connor Williams - 46th ranked G ( Weak spot on OL)
4. DLAW- 15th ranked edge rusher ( Much given, much expected)
5. Chido - 56th ranked CB . (lowest ranking among cowboys cbs)

I think Dlaw being 15 right now is fine. Didn't play at all in preseason and was the ONLY pass rushing the first two games. With Quinn to worry about on the other side things will be picking up for him.

Emmit didn't break tackles, had no long speed, seldom got yards after contact, wasn't explosive, etc.

I agree.

That's the general conclusion when comparing your open field runner to your between the tackles runner.
