Last night's game was a blueprint

For teams with a good D and ball controlling offense. I think we're going to experience some Deja Vu on the road vs. the Pats the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving. I know that's looking way ahead but what NO did last night sure looked like a Patriots blueprint. Get a couple of key turnovers, win the TOP game, win ugly.

New England has a stout defense and a 42 year old QB who can still get rid of the ball quickly. WRs can't really separate, but NE will gladly take what Dallas gives them. And we all know they will. They'll have no problem with the running and short passing plays between the 20s. I can definitely see Dallas holding them to more FGs than TDs -- but it won't matter, because I can also see JG going with a vanilla offensive gameplan AGAIN in the road vs. a quality playoff
opponent, which also means shying away from the younger, more inexperienced guys like Pollard and Jarwin which has helped Moore's offense get to where it was before last night's game.

Last night's 12-10 final reminded me of the 12-0 loss at NE in 2003. I'm hoping for something a little different this time around, but I have a feeling we'll go back into our shell. Speaking of which, our OL seems to be a shell of themselves on the road vs. a quality D compared to at home. Why is that? Is it just because of the crowd noise? Are they that weak mentally??

That then leads to a vanilla playbook. @ NO last night, @ LA during the divisional round last season. It would be nice if the D didn't bend so easily between the 20s, but it is what it is.

Last night sucked, but we've seen that chapter before and I'm afraid we'll see it again soon, no matter how good they look at home vs the Pack or Eagles, or on the road vs a hapless D like the NYG. Hell, Detroit's D is stingy in their place -- watch our offense go vanilla in that game too.

This team, specifically OL and DL, need to take control on the road in a big game before we can annoint them as serious SB contenders.

In fairness NOLA is a unique environment, but you make some valid points.

2017 Broncos -Cowboys showed the blueprint. Broncos stacked the Box and shut Zeke down. Mr. Mediocrity went 30-50 and failed to deliver. Mostly dinking and dunking. Sean Payten knew the key to winning was to put the game on Dakota and he crapped the bed. The defense came up big and Rayne flubbed a golden opportunity. Please don't break the bank with Prescotta and ensure ineptitude.

Many people who watched that game are saying the same thing; Replace Dakota and Garrett and this team could be special

Who should we replace Dak with?

Dak is an above average QB who looked all world against 3 crappy defenses. Nothing has changed since 2016, we will win more often than not when he outplays the other team's QB. Definitely need Smith and Gallup to get healthy, though.

Doubt it. The saints are the Saints. No coincidence that we played each other to nearly the same score last year? Each of the other 31 teams present a different dynamic. Would anyone be shocked if we hang 30+ on the Pack next week? Look across the league. This is the NFL. Every week, new narrative. The key is to get better, bounce back, grow as a team etc.

Yes it was.

But it was a blueprint for what we should not do against good defenses.

I really do not understand some fans here. A loss is pretty normal and the takeaways from a loss might also be for the improvement. Why is the need for such a gloom?

A better throw to Cobb or any completion of those drops would bring the W home. We did not lose by conceding 55 points like the Rams did. Shheesh. I am gonna get crazy on this board.

I'm more excited about the blue print established against the Lambs.

If we're being honest it doesn't matter what Dak does. He could have a career game vs The Pats and by Wed his detractors would be like "ok well next week is the REAL test"... etc.

This team won't win in the playoffs playing this style of defense.

Good teams are going to keep the ball away from Dallas' offense just like the Saints did last night and Rams did last year.

Heck, the Dolphins did the same thing for a 1/2 but couldn't finish drives.

The saints did to us what we like to do to other teams. Win the Time of Possession and shorten the game so the opposition doesn't have time to beat you.

Throw in some turnovers and the L is high probability for us. Its not like we were blown out as has happened when Saints hung 40 on us in the past....

So the Patriots and Saints, the best two offenses of the last few years and widely considered the leading contenders to meet in the Super Bowl this year, may be able to sustain some drives on us? Uh oh.

In the end Zeke's and Witten's fumbles cost us the game. The team was driving into Saints territory

The Saints were the best team in the NFL last year and their DL played a terrific game. And like you say, we still beat them on the road if not for some things like the Zeke and Witten fumbles that are uncommon occurances.
