What a great equalizer. This is just an honest question so, don't take it too far.

Holding calls are up this year and 10 yards is a drive killer a lot of times. So, which of theses options do you think is going on?

1. Shaping what the money wants to see go far.

2. Bias against some teams.

3. There is a logical explanation you are missing.

4. it's nothing, you're high.

5. Officials are people who make mistakes, and often from their point of view see what appears to be holding, when it isn't....or don't see holding when it is.

6. Everyone's a cheater.

8. Officials are people. They make bets the same way. Well, have someone make the bet for them. They just control the outcome, unlike many fans can't control it.
 That would be..insanity if true. Patriots must be paying good money these days..

Well, then they must risking their jobs - not to mention jail - for small bets because if big ones were hitting every week there'd be an investigation.

People here scream for holding every play, then when the calls increase it's corruption. :muttley:

I’m not sure there’s any intentional bias, but with technology that can capture every single angle in slow mo, it makes these refs look terrible.

With that said, it is so sad that we can’t enjoy any big plays without the inherent worry that it’s going to get called back on a holding penalty

I think olines are getting less work in the preseason. They grab more when they're not playing as well.

That's the big thing right there! I can't get excited about a TD until I know no flags have been thrown. It kinda takes away from the thrill a bit.

The NFL and the Referee Association just recently announce a new labor agreement. Before that, they were in negotiations and during those negotiations, the refs were making the games unwatchable by calling every little foul. We had those games with 25-30 accepted penalties occurring all the time. As soon as the agreement was announced, it went back closer to normal. So you be the judge. Were the refs doing it on purpose to force a deal? It sure looks that way to me. If so, that also proves once and for all that refs are in complete control of what happens on the field and can easily pick winners and losers. They showed during the first few weeks that they can basically throw the flag on every play if they want to. That means they are and have been a visually overlooking penalties and basically picking and choosing when and when not to call a penalty. The league needs to figure out how to clean the officiating up. I don’t really see any easy way to do it except to start firing people who miss blatant calls or keep getting calls wrong. They have to be accountable and their jobs should be on the line each and every week.

Possible mixture. Some look like they are bad calls or mistakes. Some look like they are called or not called to keep a game close. Nothing would surprise me..

Will Green Bay finally get called for holding against us?

:hammer:x 10,000!!!

They've gone entire games against Dallas without ONE holding call. Impossible because we all know every team does it.

I just want consistentcy. Which seems unobtainable for for 80 year old referees who do nothing but get in the way and shred the flow of the game.

It's almost getting unwatchable......like the NBA.

The refs and their flags are ruining the game. There's no flow to it at all. I think they've been instructed to call everything to make the game safer.
