Why does 3-2 feel as bad or worse than the 3-5 start last season?

Because it is worse.

3-5 last year wasn't bad because we weren't expecting to be great. We had no true WR#1, our O-line was average, our D-line was average, and Dak was just an okay QB. We weren't expecting to win anything, so our failure didn't hurt as much.

3-2 this year is just wild. We were seen as contenders when we were really pretenders. We had (With Tyron and Collins out, it isn't really a great O-line now) a great O-line, a supposed great defense, a QB who improved and was looking great, a star RB, an additional great RB in Pollard, a growing Gallup, a longer time to improve chemistry with Amari, Randall Cobb, and more. There was/is no reason for this team to be struggling right now. We are disappointed because this team has/had so much potential it is ridiculous that we aren't cashing in on it.

3-2 does not feel worse than 3-5 to me... last year, the team dug down and made a run. The last two losses are incredibly frustrating because the systemic issues that have have plagued this franchise look to still be firmly in place.

That said-- if they win the next 2 games and are 5-2 sitting atop the NFCE, I imagine many folks will come back of the ledge and look at these two games as frustrating examples of how this team beats itself against good competition-- but not necessarily season defining losses.

Lose the next two games-- and this team will go into an identity crisis and the season will be very similar to last year.

Because fans are dramatic and short-sighted.
Bulls***. This team has not won crap in decades, we have every right to be pissed at what crap we have seen the last 2 weeks, after all we heard in the off-season is how much improved this team will be and they might be much worse

This team found a way to turn it around last season at 3-5, when it looked like they wouldn't be a playoff team. So, I guess that is reason enough not to completely give up on this team and this season. But, 3-2 this season feels worse than 3-5 for some reason.

Maybe it's because these loses back to back are still fresh and the Cowboys have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season. I believe that it just feels worse to me because of the brutal schedule we have coming up, which seems that much more difficult with the Cowboys not having beaten a good team yet this season.

I feel like the season is on the line somewhat in the next 2 weeks. There's the Jets who aren't an automatic win since they get some of their key players back. And then the Eagles. Even if we beat the Jets a loss to the Eagles puts this season in doubt.

This is going to be a long 2 weeks, because a win over the Jets isn't enough to make me feel that much better about this team.
Probably because you bought into the Euphoria of a 3-0 start.

On a serious note, the NFLPA would simply report you and ask for arbitration. On the other hand, negative findings by the arbitrator would give the commissioner power to fine you $100 K on the first violation and $250 K on the second violation. The commissioner would automatically fine the owner $250,000 and $500,000, respectively. Other possible penalties within the commissioner's purview would be cancelling the next scheduled week of OTAs and/or forcing the team to forfeit a fourth round draft choice.

If we lose to the Jets the wheels might come off on this season. It isn't going to be pretty.

Yeah, with lame duck JG this could turn into Wade Part 2. If this team is 3-4 at the bye week Jason may be golfing sooner than expected.

Remember we made a major trade (Cooper) last year during the turnround. It was not like the team sat and got better by its own.

We had a horrible first half against the fire sale Dolphins; probably the worst team in the NFL. We lost to the Saints without Drew Brees only scoring 10 points on top of it. And Aaron Rodgers rolled us and smoked us in our house.

Then Stephen Jones goes on the air and says don't panic. It's going to be ok.

How is everyone supposed to feel?

It feels as bad because all the usual and same signs are there. The sky really isn't falling but its about as low as it usually is for this average team. Change - we need it. Been saying it for years.

Because we all bought into the hype. All training camp we heard how amazing thiD will be, how Dak has become the next great QB. We all thought our LBs would take a step up. 5 games in its clear none of that is happening. I should have known better

You fail to mention this terrible OL we have so much money invested in.

Actually the most concerning thing is Rodgers didn’t really do a damn thing and they still whooped us. The guy had 200 yards passing and no TD.

Because we were 3-0, dreaming big dreams, with a new OC showing us the magic.

But ... we had only played very poor teams.

Play a couple of good teams, even one with their starting QB out, and we lost both games. First game we went back to Linehan Ball. And GB game is a big loss. We were getting crushed. The defense was awful. Coming back from a monumental hole is a lot easier because the other team largely stops attacking on offense or defense.

It feels worse because it's a two game lose streak with the arrow going down.

Me personally, I'm also getting black pilled with the league. So many atrocious calls.

Because many bought the hype machine. This team will continue to beat the bad teams and struggle with the better teams. That's the way it's been during the Garrett era. Next week we'll beat the Jets and all will be well until the following week when we play the Eagles.

Who we swept last season. In the Garrett era.
