Jerry seems to prefer Head coaches that are more of the 'Yes Men' variety, Coaches like Parcells and Johnson that push back get pushed out, my hope is that Steven wasn't a factor before Garretts hire and could talk some sense into him, my prediction is that Garrett gets canned and Jones makes an offer to Payton like Gruden got, say 10 years 10 million a year but New Orleans matches and Payton chooses to stay in N.O..... we hire a college coach in one of these states Texas-Oklahoma-Arkansas-Nebraska or Kansas, Your thoughts?

No.

But I think it's more insane to just keep plugging along with this same HC if this season fizzles out like previous ones.

So while putting faith in Jerry to hire the right coach might be crazy and stupid, it's probably crazier and more stupid to just keep going with the same HC if the results continue to be middling.

I am counting on dumb luck in our next coaching hire.

My dog can hire a better coach than Garrett. No offense to my dog.

garrett was strictly a jerry hire, and along with witten, he's the last link to jerry's dealings. as to who would replace him, i'd hope there would be some serious discussion among jerry, Stephen and will mcclay before a decision is made.

No.....they will screw it up and promote an asst.

I LOVE your scenario tho because based on those states we get Riley,Tom Herman or Les Miles.
Now I am good with that.

We need a proven coach. Someone who’s coached and succeeded in big games. There’s not many choices out there. My two choices are McCarthy and Les Miles.

No one with self respect is coming here. Parcels was the last one who could use the new stadium as leverage to get the control he wanted in order to coach here. Coaches with skins will avoid this organization like the plague. it's likely we promote from within so the Jones's keep the status quo. Head coaches need control of their staff.

Unless making a begging call to the Tuna . NO! because it will be another yes guy like Chan, Wade, the short coach that wore glasses and red.

No i don't because Jerry's Ego will get in the way. One can only hope he realizes he doesn't have millions of years left on the earth and wants to see a SB by the time he goes.

That being said anyone that does more than clapping is an automatic upgrade. So i guess in that sense it works.

this is the only hopeful scenario I see, Jerry is a loyalist who will disregard experience to give someone who has been loyal to him a shot.... Stephen and McClay need to talk him out of this

Garrett bring gone symbolizes a complete cultural shift. It has to happen. If another coach is hired, there isn’t any attachment from Jerry to change what isn’t working. At least that’s the hope.

I have faith in Jerry to be willing to spend as much money as he needs to. That's really the extent of my faith in him.

whatever we do, we must deign signing a former coaching retread. their numbers are many. the best new coaches seem to be offensive minded and good at developing qb's. see shanahan, mcvay, and Pederson. I also don't think dallas is the coaching pariah it once was. most can see jerry's letting Stephen control far more now and he's been doing a good job of it.

It won't make a bit of difference in the end result, it'll be the same type of coach trying to operate within the jones constraints that have only gotten more cemented since the stadium was paid off

we may not be griping about the new coaches clapping and robotic personality but there will be a different set of mundane issues that mask the fact no one can overcome the albatross that jeri & his spawn are to winning
