Who will replace JG after his firing this season?

Dallas isn't going to the playoffs. That's a fact. If we want to go into the playoffs, it would take a miracle by Philadelphia to tank. The NFC is simply too loaded for us to get into a WC spot. Here are the likely/predicted NFC playoffs.

1. NO
2. SEA
3. PHI
4. GB
5. SF (49ers)
6. Lions/Rams/Carolina/Bucs/Vikings/Bears

This would obviously mean Dallas is knocked out of contention. JG will likely be fired. Who would replace him? I know there are swirling rumors of Lincoln Riley, but I severely doubt he'd leave Oklahoma. We all heard the Payton rumors last year, and he signed an extension with NO just a few months ago. In addition to that, JJ (unfortunately) likes to hire from the inside, however, we don't have many personnel that could handle that job. Kellen is a rookie OC, aka, not ready for HC. Richard is a potential candidate, however, some teams are still trying to snag him, plus we aren't very high on him as is (which wouldn't stop JJ anyways). Rod is too old and likely wouldn't take the job any ways. Who else is there? McCarthy is still available I have heard. I'm not too familiar on any other coaches possibly available. Thoughts?

The Dallas Cowboys will WIN the Super Bowl this season. That’s a fact !!

See how anyone could take an opinion and state it as a fact ??? No matter how ludicrous it may sound..
Just because you or I say it .. doesn’t make it a fact ..

I think Folks need to get off the Lincoln Riley train. Simple question, why would Riley come to the Cowboys? Riley makes 6 mil per year, plus performance incentive bonus. He is at a Power House Program where he calls all the shots. He can be there for as long as he wants, assuming he finishes at the top of the Big 12 consistently, which is not a high bar for OU. Why would he come to the NFL where he has significant pressure to win and could be out of a job in a few seasons? Why would he put up with the BS Pro Players bring, why would he do all that goes along with being a Pro Coach and all for what could easily be less money?
Even if he wanted to make the leap to NFL, why in Dallas. The least attractive franchise with worst meddling owner and no football control.

Like I said, Green Bay was a trap game.

We're a 3-2 team.

You can't start making any finite predictions with any 3-2 team right now.

Get a grip.

Per the bolded, when did this happen? Yes, this is the last year of Garrett's contract but nothing was ever said about them not resigning him after the season. If you saw otherwise, I'm curious where you saw this.

I said he will be resigned only if he reaches the SB (maybe CC the minimum if overall season goes well). Other than that he is gone.
Since we can all agree it does not look like a SB team, I say he is gone (look at him on the sideline, he doesn't look like prev years)

I’m looking forward to Garretts extension. Then we can put these type threads to rest for a few years.

So, 2 trap games in a row? How many more trap games/losses are you predicting? These trap games may get more plentiful in the future, which obviously will not bode well with our Cowboys. We won't be going anywhere with so many trap games littered on our schedule.

no... Below is what you said.. Someone just called you out and now you're changing things.. I'm just curious when they (so called) said this or are you just making stuff up?

JG is not getting fired …

Here is the deal (you heard here first)

- JJ and SJ told JG they are not bringing him back after this contract unless he wins the SB (or maybe reach the SB)

My opinion of a Jerry Jones decision based upon my 30-year observation of him. Jason Garrett will only be fired during or after this 2019 season if one or more of the following occurs (in the order of probability):

  1. A four to five consecutive game losing streak with lackluster roster performance
  2. A .500 or sub .500 regular season record (even if some miracle gets the team into the playoffs at 8-8)
  3. A wild card loss
I do not believe any other scenario cans Garrett this year but I will believe any other scenario happening if-and-when I see it happen.

Are you aware Philly has a Super Bowl winning head coach while we have a clapper?

I'm not going to rule out the playoffs yet. The one good team we can beat is the Eagles, and that's because they're in our division and we know them.
And while I am pessimistic based on 20 years of futility, I am also a bit optimistic. I refused to believe that our offensive line has just given up the ghost. I believe this unit will get back on track. Furthermore, for as much as I have criticized Dak for his accuracy, he hasn't been "that" off. He hasn't been Tebow-inaccurate (and I like Tebow). A few adjustments, and I think he'll okay. Besides, I like his leadership ability. I think he has a won't-give-up attitude, and that may serve him well down the stretch. And I want to believe Zeke is still suffering from a lack of training camp.

So against the evidence, I'm going to stick with a 10-6 finish and winners of the NFC East.

Well . . . here's the thing.

I have hope for the team in spite of Garrett.

Yes, I thought he should have been fired like years ago. Years ago.

But, these two were trap games.

The Saints are a good team. And we just didn't have the chemistry we needed without Gallup. That, and they just played us well. It happens. The Saints are good, too.

The Green Bay game should have been closer for us. But when we start out with a fluke play off of Cooper's pads, due to the placement of the ball, for an interception turned into a score.. that put us behind the 8 ball.

Because then we gave the ball back to them first in the second half.

That play gave GB a great advantage and changed the scope of the game.

Remember, Rogers is a future HOFer.. As Cowboys fans, we forget how good he really is.

I don't like him, personally, but I realize the dude is money.

So, yep, both of these games, were the definition of trap games for this team in my book.

Either way, Cowboys fans, most of them at least, will always think in paradigms.

On a separate note, regarding Garrett, I'd venture to say his record against winning coaches isn't nearly as good as his overall record.

That's the thing about Garrett, he really does get out coached when it matters most — against good coaches.

Jerry Jones has made some good moves recently.

But the ineptitude and failures of Jason Garrett will always be on him.

As a fan, you take it or leave it.

I don't like it. But then again, I try not to spew negativity about it or it ruins the fun of being a fan. I like to look for positives, even in the bad Cowboys teams.

This year, it's Kellen Moore.

He'll take his lumps and like it, and hopefully learn from it.

^This.

I am not sure why anyone automatically makes Riley a hire candidate when it does not even appear Jones would target him in the first place. Riley is another "I think this will happen and will not put any thought into considering who Jerry Jones might want" fan opinion.

JG is not getting fired ...

Here is the deal (you heard here first)

- JJ and SJ told JG they are not bringing him back after this contract unless he wins the SB (or maybe reach the SB)
- Because they are not renewing his contract, they did not want to make changes on the coaching staff. Keep everything as is.
- Almost all coaches will be gone, especially the coordinators. The new regime will bring their own guys and decide on who to keep.
- JG had only one request for this last year (last chance) which is to remove Linehan. They obliged, and all ageed to put KM as OC
- The Kitna move was always on the cards because they need someone to work with Dak to figure out if there is hope)

JG haters will get their wish (unless he gets to SB of course - I doubt). And to be honest, I am (JG fan) ready to turn the page. I was ok with 5 years window,
but it seems the team is stuck at the same level and cannot get out of it and progress further. JG has some great attributes, but they mostly fit a front office guy more than a coach, as much as he always has his guys play for him and play hard. But play hard is not what it is all about. It's winning. Post season winning of course, and he cannot get past that hurdle.

I like Jim Harbough frankly, but wouldn't mind Lincoln Riley. It's a young league now and you need young blood. Maybe Quin can join him as the DC since he is getting fired from ATL.

A lot of people had the Cowboys pegged as ending the season with a losing record last year before the Amari Cooper trade...look how that turned out for those early predictors.

Its 2032 and someone else just asked who will replace Garrett after his firing. You all think i was joking when i said he's going to be around as long as Landry was.
