Sorry every time I hear the name Hot Boyz, I think of the movie "Kids" by Larry Clark.... You know the movie where AIDS is spread around by a non caring kid that does not inform the teenage females he has sex with of his illness. I mean we have a ring leader that is a hundred million dollars richer that could take the roll of this kid.... All we have to do is change the meaning of AIDS being Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome to Another Issue Dallas Signed and we are in business.... Between the defensive signing of RoMac and Hardy, David Irving, and Gregory, who can really get upset with signing the highest paid 4-3 DE to under perform? Yes we made him earn his contract with 2 years of performance, but since getting paid he has regressed.... I truly hope he has not healed yet, but we have signed so many that proved to be about the money and not about the art that is defensive football, I have to question such....
Speaking of questions, don't get me started on 1tech .... Only Woods is serviceable and he is still a leftover from another team that he was not good enough for....Then there is Covington that is being used and abused.... We are seeing his run stopping prowess in full effect. We are so good at 3tech we used our first pick of this years draft to get a guy who has yet to start.... Yes I know, evaluate in 3 years.... No help from Mr. Versatile that can play both 3tech and DE, guess bar fighting is his interest. Then there is the LB's... Since the DT's are not controlling the middle, they're not able to shoot the gaps and stop the runners either.... In fact it is so bad we are questioning if the LB's have regressed......
I could say even more about the DB's but I think it is self explanatory.... While they can defend passes left and right, turnovers are so few and far from a possibility, even the mighty Richard is looking amateurish. Maybe we can blame the new 3tech hire and not a new Safety.... Only time will tell, if we continue with this staff next year.... Either way I hope we stop this game of hot potato..... Maybe training the players to turn their heads to see the ball coming would help.... Who knows....
Anyhow I agree with many that the name should be Hot Mess, not Hot Boyz..... Regardless kill the nickname for Christ sake......
EDIT: I will say Quinn seems to be the real deal but on a contract deal himself.... Rather we pay for his services or another team, we again fall in the question of keeping such for a man trying to prove his worth for another big payday..... Somewhere we have to learn we have so much money to give and evaluate better on these contracts.... If we really draft that well, do we need to pay top 5 money unless we are in SB mode?????
