What do you really gain from firing him now. You arent gonna improve making that move in season. We have been a major disappointment, but so have the Eagles so the division is still winnable. You dont want to be home in January is the way I see.

I don't think playoffs saves Garrett. He needs to make a real playoff run. I think behind closed doors the Jones are tired of paper tigers

I don't want him fired now. When we get to 8 then I am all for tanking and canning him. That is not a solution though.

I'm talking about a long term replacement that will be at the draft, FA meetings, TC, and all that next year.

Because if he has all the patience in the world for his golden boy then that would be demonstrated in an extension.

Even that patience (over a decade) has its limits.

The lack of extension wasn't an oversight. Now it's looking smart from a financial perspective if nothing else.

I just can't see Jones firing extended family during the season. It would be an emphatic admission of a mistake and I don't think Jerry's ego would allow it.

But we'll see, I think Garrett is done one way or the other.

The fanbase probably wants Riley

More likely candidates include Dan Campbell, Jack Del Rio Jeff Fisher and Mike McCarthy with Moore being groomed as the eventual HC.

Del Rio reminds me of Garett. Fisher makes me sick at the thought. McCarthy I could go either way. I do think Dak is more suited to a WCO offense.

Hard to say really. Outside of Riley, on name Ive heard is thought of highly here is Dan Campbell

McCarthy would be a good fit and he would know how to beat GB.
I think the game has passed McCarthy by. His undoing in GB was his unwillingness to adjust a dated scheme

You might as well keep Garrett because none of those names will have an impact here.

I'd go with Richard as an interim coach and go hunting in the offseason. Obviously Riley is the #1 option but we won't know who's all on the market until February.
That would seem like the more logical decision. Rod could take over the defence again and retire in the off season. Riley would want to make his own choices to take over this team if he jumps to the nfl.

I have little interest in discussions of rants, reactionary diatribe, or whining. I like discussing solutions.

What potential HC are out there that would upgrade the team? Keep in mind that this is still the Cowboys with all that entails. Your neophyte prodigy might not be as good of an idea as one may think.

I really have no idea about the college ranks but would love to see what people have in mind.
I have little interest in hearing from a long time Garrett supporter telling me how to respond to anything.

Here is an important question. What would be best, a team manager that would let his staff run there respective sides of the ball. Or more of a tactical HC who would be more involved in play calling?
