I'd gladly put a 2nd on the table for OJ Howard.
-Rookie TEs always suck. Always. If you draft a guy, he's not going to be productive for at least 1 year and probably 2. The Buccaneers have essentially paid for 2 years of Howard's "suck" period.
-Howard's got 2 cheap years left on his rookie contract.
-He's a good enough blocker to play in line, and athletic enough to make big plays from the slot.
-Garrett's... um, conservative offense can really use a true Y TE who could both block for Zeke and run hitch routes short of the 1st down marker. Howard would be a great fit.
And Tampa would realistically want to dump him. Arians only values TEs as blockers and hasn't featured a TE in his offense for at least a decade, if ever. They have Cameron Brate on the roster to fill the gap from trading Howard. He might see Howard as a sunk cost from a previous regime.
