dont get too excited I still think he is a starting caliber QB and he is the least of our problems but they have made mistakes with the last 3 contract extensions in Jaylon Dlaw and Zeke maybe they btter make sure of dak. The only one living up to his money is now hurt in Collins.

Close game. It could be argued that a better QB would have been the difference between winning and losing.
It could be argued but on here a nice amount think nothing is ever the qb's fault and I guess they will retort some think the opposite. When you have people on both sides just fighting to be right we can't have a truthful talk on what this QB is or isn't.

When Carson does it against a 4-2 squad with half his team out with injury, he’s a choke artist. When Dak loses against an 0-5 team with 2-3 guys out he’s a hero.

About right?
This ^^^^^^ Hit the nail on the head. This forum has a lot of excuse making Skip Bayless clones. The NFC East really needs NY to win it this year, that will push the right buttons for Dallas to drop Garrett and Eagles to fire Schwartz and hire a OC.

And not taking a sack in a key moment.

I thought overall Dak did well with getting rid of the ball yesterday. He was under intense pressure all game
Long and only got sacked twice.

He has improved in that regard since last season. That’s clear in his game.

Still needs to stop up in the pocket more
Often. He does it better than the past but still has room for growth in that area.

True. You wont find an honest conversation about Dak on here. The subject of our QB has damn near ruined this site.

Dak was destroyed by Darnold yesterday. Embarassed even. You can't be serious.

Dak played yesterday with the type of offensive personnel Romo had most of his career, especially on the offensive line. Difference is, Romo would have put up 30 on the Jets and won a game like that.

Dak was down to Green Bay, 31-3.

He got beat by Teddy Bridgewater and only field goals.

Now he was down 21-3 to the 0-5 Jets.

He's simply easy to defend.

Are we seriously going to devote $35 million in cap space each year to this guy?

His offense ekes out 3 field goals through 3 quarters of play and he shares none of the blame .My, how the standards have changed around here

Exactly, he is getting credit for the almost comeback but none of the blame that the offense led by him could only put up 9 points thru 3 quarters of play. Whenever something good is happenning it's because of Dak but whenever something bad is happenning or not going right it's because of drops or bad o-line play or bad calls etc etc etc. We won our 1st 3 games and it was all Dak we lost our last 3 and it's all because of somebody else

Unless he and our D find some magic over the next 6-8 weeks it is only going to get worse as our schedule gets tougher

Dak is a mediocre quarterback and people have trouble analyzing that middle range. He is a true bus driver type. If everything is working, he will drive the bus just fine and won't lose you games. If things aren't good, he isn't going to carry the team to victory. There were several throws that were just a little off and got dropped yesterday. Several opportunities to check out of plays when there was a blitz coming and he didn't. He didn't play awful but he didn't play great either.

As I have said in other threads, when you think Dak you should think "meh". If its any more than that, you are putting too much thought into it.

Dak is the product of a broken Cowboys system. Until he plays for a real coaching staff we have no idea what he can actually do in the NFL. I don't think he's secretly Mahomes or something, but I think if you gave this team Mahomes out of college they wouldn't have developed him into the 2018-19 version we see now either. In terms of developing offensive players Garrett & co. are so far behind Andy Reid it's like they're not even playing the same sport.

You can't have idiots teach somebody and then wonder why they aren't achieving to their potential.

Are you freaking serious?

Did you not hear how the Jets were doing without Sam Darnold in the line up? (Same personnel same, same coaching staff)

Funny how much difference a good QB makes..

Yes Darnold has scored 10 points more per game than the other Quarterbacks!

This ^^^^^^ Hit the nail on the head. This forum has a lot of excuse making Skip Bayless clones. The NFC East really needs NY to win it this year, that will push the right buttons for Dallas to drop Garrett and Eagles to fire Schwartz and hire a OC.

Very true and it's embarrassing.

I watched the Eagles game yesterday and thought fair play, Wentz was excellent and let down by guys dropping regulation HUGE catches on second and especially third down.

Only to hear Skip Bayless criticised him.

So biased that it's embarrassing.

If Wentz had Thielen then the Eagles would be 5-1 today.

No, Wentz puts them into position to win the. The receiver drops the ball

Funny i saw D'Andre Hopkins drop a couple of balls yesterday (hit him right in the hands chest high too) against the Chiefs, didn't seem to stop Deshaun Watson from putting up points and winning the game against the Chiefs. Of course maybe guys around here will argue that the Jets are a better team than the Chiefs.

Yep and I'm sure most of us can name the main combatants on either side. I think he's average and more like Alex Smith but don't think he's the worse just like Alex Smith. I think he's an okay QB but I'd take the chance to draft a better first rd QB over him and if it fails it fails. He's not good enough to be opposed to try to get better at that position even if it doesn't work out. I'm not a believer of staying with average because you're scarred you might do worse than average. You can also do better than average too.

So true.

It's also evident that when Romo commentates on the Cowboys he goes out of his way to not criticise Prescott.

Romo doesn't want to be seen as a hater or bitter etc. He did Prescott a right solid last night when he could have dug him out.

Why not change the play call on that 2 point conversion? He is a Fourth years starter after all...
