Here's the skinny on Antwaun Woods.

He's a former Trojan and very close friends with one of my former players, so I have love for him.

He was cut from the Titans 90-man roster before training camp started last year. He was not good enough to compete for the Titans 53-man roster. He came here and immediately became the starting 1Tech.

Now, I know that sometimes players respond later in their careers, respond to different coaching, etc., but this guy went from being not one of the top 2,880 NFL players to being a day one starter for us. If that does not tell you something about this team and their defensive philosophies, I don't know how to help you people.

1. Sean Lee 43.9 (good against the run, horrific in coverage)
2. Robert Quinn 46.5 (2 sacks but horrific score in run defense)
3. Antuan Woods 48.9
4. Awuzie 52.0
5. malik Collins 56.2

After so much hype in camp, Collins has been meh. Maybe he looked so good in camp because he was playing against our LG.

On Lee and Quinn, that looks about right. Going into the season, both looked like specialists. Good to see that Hyder and Thomas can take up some of that slack where they lack.

AWoods hasn't played for weeks. I'll give him a mulligan.

Only counting guys who played more than 20 snaps. Just a reminder.......anything under 60 means the player was an overall detriment to the team.

1 Kerry Hyder 74.2
2. Joe Thomas 71.2
3. DLAW 66.5
4. X Woods 64.4
5. Heath 63.7 (this surprised me.....he was apparently very good against the run.)

Bottom 5

1. Sean Lee 43.9 (good against the run, horrific in coverage)
2. Robert Quinn 46.5 (2 sacks but horrific score in run defense)
3. Antuan Woods 48.9
4. Awuzie 52.0
5. malik Collins 56.2

other notables

Byron Jones 59
LVE 60.3 (nice bounce back from last week........still not good enough)
Jaylon 62

Explain how Quinn scored low on run defense when the Jets didn't run the ball well against us?

They gotta get Connor out of there. Freddy needs help.

Quinn was awful unless he was rushing the passer. His tackling grade was 26 which is among the worst scores i've seen posted for a DE.

Lol both starting DT's were apparently a detriment to the team.

How do a bunch of zoners know this but not the FO of the most expensive organization in sports history?

Do you like your guys that much?

Rod is coaching them up.

Quinn will always have poor run defense ...he’s like Gregory. Pure speed rushers. So take that grade with a grain of salt, It’s our defense the way it’s set up. They needed that traditional end on his side to rotate with. We’re always one guy short when I go moving names around to figure out a good formula ...”if I just had...” looool Hey Atlanta...I’ve been reading your posts awhile...keep at it,you’ve got a passion for this college and player grades stuff ...good beans man.

Kerry Hyder is the hardest working guy we have on D. He’s probably the least talented but he makes up for it with an intensity most guys on this team sorely lack.

I ain't arguing it. I just don't understand how anyone on our D was bad against the run when the Jets ran 20 times for 56 yards.

That (embarrassing) 92 yarder encapsulates Heath's career................If you watch a replay of it , Anderson was the only Jet receiver going down the field.......Not only was Jeff H. late in recognizing it after Chido got burnt like toast , he took an extremely poor angle which is why he wasn't even close to making the tackle , let alone a play on the ball.............

I noticed the poor angle as well when they showed the replay (pretty typical of Heath)

If we had a huge 1T is the middle, that would immediately help Quinn and DLaw. The Cowboys D just isn't very good right now.

Heaths strength is tackling not playing center field. This goes back to poor schematics that don't fit the personnel.
