I've never said at any time this season, even during the first 3 games against weak teams and before the Cowboys have suffered so many injuries that they were going to the Super Bowl. That doesn't change the fact that couch coach never post ANYTHING positive about the Cowboys. What kind of fan ALWAYS posts something negative about the team they claim to be a fan of? At some point a fan post something supportive of his team. I know that I'm not the only one that has questioned whether he is actually a Cowboys fan.
What the hell is there to be positive about with this team?? It's a complete ****show.

You are one of the better posters at CZ but your posts with references to Jerry as Booger really detract from that and just come across as one of the thousand mindless posters that complain about everything with silly nicknames for Jerry or Garrett, etc..

CouchCoach is to Jerry nicknames as Flozell Adams was to penalties. Adams was a really good player but had a lot of penalties and had them at the worst possible times.

Jerry endorsed Wade Phillips the week before he fired him.

You have to read between the lines with regards to what the Jones Boys say in interviews.

Stephen Jones interviews in the off-season are much different than during the season when he knows everything they say will become a media narrative.

I'm convinced that SJones will push Garrett out if the Cowboys don't make the NFC Championship game. He was blunt and fairly harsh with regards to questions about Garrett in off-season interviews.

Also, SJones hates spending money and not getting a return on investment. The 6M salary for Garrett likely drives him crazy.
First off, thank you for the compliment which only serves to support the fact we need to add a lot more posters here....a lot more. And I love the Flozell reference. Clever, very clever, I think I shall steal it.

I know the Booger name is childish, immature and silly (but so am I) and it irritates some posters but that nickname was born in the perfect storm and I cannot, after all of these years and posts using that, let it go and call him by name. BTW, his nickname prior to that was Ole Sphincter Face. which do you think he'd prefer?

x, billionaire opens Taj Mahal stadium on national TV and is caught on the Boogertron mining for gold and loses the game after embarrassingly losing the game to close the previous stadium. Add to this he's from AR, as I am, and that's not an uncommon nickname there as I knew two that had that but not for the reason he and Booger from "Revenge of the Nerds" have it. He became Booger that night and has been ever since and you are not the first to dislike it but I am not really sure why posters that aren't part of his clan really care what I call him. I do not use it in headlines because I know it irritates some and we have to read headlines, they do not have to read my posts. I actually thought most, that do read my posts, were past that by now.

As far as the endorsement of Wade, I do not see the same thing here at all and the person Booger & Son have so quickly come to rescue here was part of the reason Son was able to persuade his Dad to pull the trigger and take off for Vegas and photo ops with young women and show off his new Cowboy boots. Wade was not family, not even the drunk uncle, Garrett and his family are part of the Jones family and we know how Booger is about family.

If the Cowboys lose to the Eagles, the Garrett chatter will escalate and I really do think he announces the extension during the bye. I have never even considered that he would let Garrett go anymore than he would fire his COO and son. He doesn't have to and he doesn't do what he doesn't have to do.

I know some use things he's said before as guides to Boogerspeak but he and his son came riding in really fast to support him, the next morning. I actually think the deal is already done and has been and they've been waiting for some quiet to get out in front of the media and dominate the news.

the booger stuff is beyond tired
Proof, not going to change and you're not then first to lodge a complaint about it and duly noted. This guy running the team is beyond tired. 24 years of this is beyond tired and all the years of him Boss hoggin' (others' nickname for him) the spotlight is beyond tired.

Want Booger to go away? Make him go away!

My goodness, all those caps and the anger. You even ended that last sentence with a preposition, tsk tsk, naughty, naughty boy.
I never even use caps. it's only when spell check does it automatically that you'll see them in my posts. my words and time are so important I can't waste the time to push down on the cap key. often, I just let the subject of my sentence be implied. I say "hope so and so happens" instead of "I hope so and so happens". as for ending sentences in a preposition, I find it painful.

Kudos to CC for getting two other posters to include the word "booger" into their comments.

.... oops, I guess that's 3 now.
CP, x and Proof were just looking for a reason to use it, they can't fool me. But you made it special with " "'s.

Seriously, I don't know why that bothers posters. I see posters using the Clapper and Carrottop and let's not forget the HOF all timer, Garretkeet, and that doesn't bother me at all. I don't see any other posters getting grief for their nicknames.

All y'all! Back off now, I mean it, stop picking on me!

You have to have a license to be a varmint? I am an illegal varmint and now loving it even more. Maybe you need to build a wall around your grass? That seems to work really well.
license only to shoot varmints, not be one. and mucophagy is no laughing matter. I would think one of your education would be more sensitive to the mucophagous individuals among us. no matter how disgusting it looks.

No gj, you are not the only one and I realize there are some that take me too seriously and I had that issue when I first starting participating at the old DC.com, sarcasm might be better understood delivered verbally but that is not accurate, I've been positive about this team plenty of times and a lot of the time when I felt the forum needed it. Just trying to be that little ray of sunshine in the midst of thunderstorm.

In fact, just started a thread about next man up which is actually in defense of the team because they decided to go with big paydays for starters and try to get five A players on the OL. That's only a poor decision if what happens has happened. Two missing OT's, a banged up C and RB but this team was built around the OL, they will live or die with it but I can't fault them just because the one thing we didn't want to happen has taken place. It was a damned if they do and damned if they don't situation.

Now add the WR injuries into the equation and this gets really dicey. What I do get is the disappointment; what I don't get is the anger. This cat is a risk taker and has been from the get go. Any GM puts than much into his OL and then RB is rolling the dice.

I am far more supportive of this team than you give me credit for. Oops.

LMAO, not sensitive enough not to use that when a billionaire opening his palace does it and gets caught.

Since week 1 and even now the Cowboys have been on top in their division. Gee I'm sorry that the NFL doesn't proclaim final standings after week 6 but then if they did I guess that wouldn't work for you either being on top.

All the discontent with this team would lead one to believe some are on the edge of leaving. I'm mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

Well, get ready because Booger's Boy is getting extended because when it comes to this team, Booger gets what Booger wants and he could care less if you or I don't like it.

Are you reading the tea leaves of his radio interviews? Tell me what you see? What I see is a stronger endorsement of Garrett than when he was 3-0 and more of that "many other teams would want him". All part of the presell on the extension and he even got his son in on the action.

My point is this, everyone of us has the same decision to make, go or stay. It's that simple. But to expect things to change to suit us is folly.

Booger is not accountable and can do whatever he wants with his team, employ whomever he wants and you still have the same choice, go or stay.

If it makes you feel better, please proceed to start "Garrett's a goner" threads but also continue to ignore those tea leaves.

I have made several decisions about this team since Booger bought it. The best was to just avoid any interviews with him, any pressers, avoid as much exposure as possible because I realized what was happening. He was making himself the face of the franchise and loving that name for his stadium, Booger World.

So far, I've been able to hold out but it is getting tougher with the obsession with everything he says some have on this forum. You are aiding him in becoming that face and voice of the franchise.

I surely will not ask anyone not to start threads about him because it is also my decision to go or stay here and we all have the same right to start legal threads. But do you see what you are doing with all of this talk about him? Why not just change the name of this to the JonesZone?
Parcells said it’s coached or you allow it to happen!!!

Thank you for that. I guess I've just never seen the positive posts. I have always said that sarcasm is so much easier understood and recognized in a face to face verbal method. The printed form one can only go by what is written. There's no voice inflection, facial signs, no hand movements, just the written words. I will try in the future to figure out if you're being sarcastic or being negative because I don't believe every post that initially appears as being negative is sarcasm.

I guess I'll try to be more open minded with you. Oops

... I decided not to let this bother me some time back but I used to be all hot and bothered by it. Somehow, my ego was entwined with the team and I took losing personally. I was an awesome person to be around if they were losing.
I used to suffer from this as well. Made a conscience decision a few years back to, not be emotionally invested anymore. While I do fall short on that, I don't let affect others around me anymore..lol. I miss the glory days as much as anyone but, I'll have to see it to believe, it can happen again.

I don't remember the last season I missed more than a game. Though today, if I were to miss one, I'd just dvr it. The only season since the 70's, I've missed significant games was the 1989 season. I was in boot camp for most of the season...lol.

Otis still kickin..?

Coach is a Humorist. He’s aligned with Homers and Critics depending on the subject. He calls it like he sees it from often a sarcastic perspective but realistic. He offers up a very insightful and entertaining spin which is often spot on.

Anyone who can still find the strength to follow and or support the Cowboys thru this dysfunctional frustrating era needs a humorist sarcasm or apathetic mentality to keep from jumping off the cliff or storming Jerry-world with demolition crew.
