I have a theory about Sir Jerry, mates, hooligans, contractors, sometimes-associates and wards of the court.
He hires milquetoast coaches, Parcells being the exception. Gailey, Campo, Phillips and Jason.

Wrong.

Going forward, the Next Cowboys coach needs to be a fire-breathing, player-hated, Neanderthal who understands football and not the need for a high-paid player who demands his own helmet or holds out in Cabo. Or who vacations in Cabo with Jessica and wirh a grinning and dumb Witten.

The next coach needs to understand the true concept of NFL football.

DEFENSE!
A YARD-GRINDING OFFENSE!
SPECIAL TEAMS!

And he needs to be independent from Jerry.

And not afraid to bench and trade those who aren't with the program.

Blimey!
FIRE IN THE BELLY!!

Hollah, and brings me a dollah!

A no-nonsense coach might demand that Jerry not visit the locker room like clockwork after every game. Normally the locker room is reserved for players, coaches, trainers, Etc, you know the guys that actually put in the time and sweat. I have no clue why Jerry thinks he's needed in the locker room other than ego, and I'm sure most coaches would not want him there.

If they force the same players onto a new headcoach, what's the difference? They need to let the new guy buy his own groceries. And that's why Jerry has always hired these nobody puppets, so he can have control over player personnel. Garrett gives in to that control and that's why he's been here so long.

There is no fire burning in Garrett's loins for a certain type of play or a certain type of player. He is a what ever you say, what ever you want type of coach. He is what some might call a "yes" man. Jerry's jester.

So how many real coaches would be OK with being Jerry's jester?

Oh no Can’t have that, hell if we had a coach like that we could maybe win back to back SuperBowls. Jara would have to fire him. Or if we had a coach like that he could turn a 5-11 team into a 10-6 team, and build the foundation for 13-3, can’t have that, Jara would have to shove “a player” down his throat. Having a coach like that would never do! Oh no.....much better to....Um well....Um.....we...um won the second half.......um.....we won the first weekend.......um......and...um.....almost beat the Giants.......good ole coach um....twenty two years and three playoff wins. Yeah baby! Go go Clapper!

How many "who will be the next HC for Dallas" threads are we going to have? I get it....we all want Garrett gone. Not sure if that's going to happen, though. o_O

Our next Coach of the Dallas Cowboys needs to be able to consistently, through his Leadership, and through his staff, week in and week out, prepare whomever happens to be on our Team, to play good hard football, from the opening kickoff, to the final second of the game.

The last time that happened we had an owner who hated walking on egg shells when he could not meddle comfortably when he wanted to. I don't see Jones desiring that level of discomfort at his age.
