That's because Garrett doesn't speak up and never works the refs regarding bad calls. All the coaches do it except Garrett.

Garrett nice guy shtick is affecting this team. This noble gesture that our team can't complain about bad calls and that we shouldn't challenge the refs is rediculous. Especially when all other coaches can and does it. It just makes us look soft and weak.

The first one is interesting to me. I guess they are saying he did not try hard enough to avoid falling directly on the QB? I can kinda see it but it gets really weird if they start calling everything like that...

Yeah I don't see the penalty on that one. His legs were cut out from underneath him. Even the second is iffy but I've seen much less get flagged. What made me laugh was the quote, "One missed call changed the complexion of a critical drive". Really? By not gifting them something they couldn't achieve on their own? I really hate that mentality.

The second one is a straight spear to the chest plate, should have been flagged. I guess since they didnt hit Dak's head, the refs decided to let it go.

The first one is kinda iffy, just being honest. The first guy hits Dak and knocks him to the ground as the other defender is getting blocked wide and falls to the ground and lands on Dak's head with his thigh. Doesn't really look intentional, more like a pile up with Dak on the bottom of the pile. I really dont see much of an intentional roughing there. I probably agree with the refs on the first call to let it slide, but the second one was clear cut and should have been called, no excuse for them not to.

Imagine that the official miss something in the Dallas game? Although I must say it's not just Dallas games these officials are horrible just freaking horrible and yet I believe they just gave them another 7 year contract? Maybe the players should discuss this in their new CBA? Maybe a few of the team Union Representatives need to be on the competition committee or a committee of them to review the officials this crap of the league doing it has not worked in the officiating just keeps getting worse. Maybe we need to add three or four new Blind Mice to watch the game? Maybe we should put one of them in a chair like they did with Booger McFarland run him up and down the field on a Wire look for penalties from above? Then went in Dallas Jerry can push a button and dump him just like a dunk tank LOL

Saying this 2 weeks after he incurred a 15 yard penalty for vehemently complaining to the officials might be bad timing.

Funny how the so-called "elite" teams get the lion's share of those calls.

We can only fondly recall how the Cowboys used to enjoy that privilege. :omg: :muttley:

The playoff game in GB (you all which one), we got flagged for hitting Rodgers below the knees. Our very next possession Romo took a worse shot below the knees and no call. Even the commentators mentioned it. And that wasn't the only illegal shot Romo took that day. None we called. You all can say what you will, but don't be blind to obvious crap like that...
I remember it was a blatant one by Clay. Hard to see how an unbiased fair minded person could miss that. Form 7ft away and looking directly at it.

I believe we got three points instead of half the distance from like the 6 yard line.

I'm a bit iffy on that first one too, but the second one was clear as day.

I don't know. Dak is tough. No doubt about that. However, I don't think the hits were al that bad. It is football. They are supposed to hit and tackle.
I think maybe the Oline coach should be fined by Jerry for the horrid protection.

I would endorse being fined for missing that many blocks

lol. NFL officials are not the only group of referees who call fouls committed against certain players and refuse to penalize for fouls suffered by others. Same thing happens in all sports. Heck. NBA players without household names take one extra step without dribbling and get called for traveling routinely while so-called superstars take three and occasionally FOUR steps without it being called.

Prescott is not alone in this nonsense. It is not just Cowboys quarterbacks getting shafted. Five of the seven game referees:

  • Line Judge
  • Down Judge
  • Side Judge
  • Field Judge
  • Back Judge
--can be excused from blame. Their responsibilities are dedicated for watching other players or other areas of the field. The same cannot said for the remaining two officials. Both the Head Referee and Umpire squat a few yards behind the quarterback on every snap. One of the Mr. White Cap's main jobs is watching the quarterback after the ball is snapped.

And while the Umpire's duties are solely for watching the what is happening on the line of scrimmage, he is not totally blind to the quarterback. It is why everyone sees two flags instead of just one flag thrown from their position sometimes where the quarterback gets hit.

Not talking about conspiracy or collusion. It is a mindset. There is a level of importance referees assign some quarterbacks and not to other quarterbacks. It routinely happens at all three levels of the sport too. One quarterback gets touched high (I say touched because it is not always a hit) and a flag is seemingly flying in nanoseconds. Another quarterback gets touched THE EXACT SAME WAY and nothing routinely happens.

Occasionally the foul is called for the other quarterback but not routinely. The other quarterbacks sometimes ask or even flop for a flag and are ignored by the refs, so it is not simply a case of begging or an Academy Award performance drawing a flag either. For whatever reason, referees do not give the same clout to all quarterbacks. It is either that or they are the only human beings who experience episodes of convenient blindness practically every game.
