Eagles tried to trade for 2 different CBs.

They offers a 1st and 2nd for Ramsey but the Rams offer was better. After that fell through they then offered a 1st and Agholor and Patrick Peterson which the Cards rejected.

In the last 10 years the Eagles drafted Brandon Graham DE, Danny Watkins OG, Fletcher Cox DT, Lane Johnson OT, Marcus Smith LB, Nelson Agholor WR, Carson Wentz QB, Derek Barnett DE, and Andre Dillard. Thee are a couple of busts in that list but the rest of the list includes some really good players.
3 quality players out of 10.
If you told me I had a 30% hit rate then I’d give you the 2 picks for Ramsey with a smile on my face.

Wentz took up a ton of picks so he isn’t even factored because the eagles wouldn’t be drafting anywhere near 2nd overall.

I would take Ramsey over any 3 of those guys combined. Not named Wentz because he is a QB.

Can anyone name the last time a team gave up multiple high picks for a CB that worked out.

They gave up a lot to get Wentz and that didn't seem to slow them down.

QB is different than a CB.

CBs are probably a top 5 position but the game is pretty much built against them. No defensive player regularly has that much impact on an outcome of a game. JJ Watts team was average during his mvp year..Rams are already paying arguably the best defensive player in the league(Donald) but they need more help?

Even then...the jury is still out on if Wentz was worth it. His career record is 26-20 and has had injuries each year. He had one great winning season but even then..his backup picked up and the team didn’t miss a beat. Same with last season.

This argument needs to stop being made.

1. Foles is good in short spurts, he sucked at the beginning of the 2018 season. He's not a scrub QB though, he's a capable QB on a well-coached team. If he's so special of a QB, heck, we might as well went for him since we need a Super Bowl win...yes?

2. All the Foles run for the Super Bowl means is, the Eagles have a championship level coaching staff. It's the same with Belichick, what is his record when Brady went out? They still went 11-5 in 2008 and lost one game without him in 2017

The only real knock on Wentz is his injuries, talent is not a question. He's a big reason they had a shot at a Super Bowl in 2017.

He has had a losing record in 2 out of his 3 years and it remains to be seen if this year is any better, I guess it depends a lot on tonight. Foles took them to the playoffs last season as well, the season looked lost when Wentz went out.

I don’t question his talent but he doesn’t seem the same since his injury in 2016.

I know the stats are there but I have a lot of friends that are Eagles fans and not all of them support the guy as much as you would think. He’s not the best QB when the game is on the line, that’s documented and the team did seem to respond better to Foles especially last season.

And Foles play in the Super Bowl had little to do with coaching. He put together one of the best SB performances we have ever seen. Patriots got by with adequate, system based QB play when Brady missed time...the Eagles needed an epic performance from their QB to win that SB and I don’t know if Wentz could’ve possibly been any better.

But once again I don’t question his talent or giving up a lot for your QB...but is it safe to say the jury is still out? The 2016 magic has faded and durability is a QBs most valuable attribute. He can turn it around tonight but he’s only beat Dallas once and that’s when we didn’t have our RB, LT or the QB of our defense(Lee). That fan base is going to turn on him quick if he loses to us again considering how the Jets just burned our defense.

its fair to say Jerry will never draft a RB so high again, they clearly are not worth as much as other positions.

He's only played in the league for 3 and a half seasons, 1 was his rookie year (we aren't giving rookies passes anymore?) and one ended in injury. The season he played the majority of games, was the season he lost 1 game and eventually the team went on to win a Super Bowl. Also LOL at this place going back and forth on W/L record. The simple fact is, despite you folks REACHING to call Prescott better, you don't get a shot at the Super Bowl if you don't get the job done in the regular season - Wentz was by far the best QB in 2017 - Foles coming in and playing like the 2012 playoff Flacco doesn't change the fact that Wentz was playing at a championship QB level of play.

I really don't care what Philly thinks about anyone, they run anyone and everyone out of town. They are a toxic fan base in a trash city.

The eagles fans wanted him and didn’t care about the draft picks because other than Wentz they have missed on every first round pick in the last 10 years.
And yet they won a Super Bowl in that time span. Which goes to show you that it's not always about first-round talent but lower-round talent and coaching.

Apparently, Ramsey has already impacted how the Rams play defense. Ramsey has basically been left on an island with Jones, which has allowed them to shift help in the other side, play more aggressively up front, including sending CB blitzes.

You may not be aware that Pederson went out of his way after Wentz went down in 2017 to go back and look at the tape of what had made Foles successful previously. He then tweaked the O to fit that.

Coaching was monstrous for the Eagles in 17, and a huge part of why they won. Prolly the biggest factor.

I’m not denying that.

I’m saying the throws he made in the SB were not coaching.

their lower round drafting sucked too

They just happen to have a good veteran roster, most of which was inherited.
