LePRC.
Gotta get that Chinese money off Space Jam 2.

He should of stayed quiet. Offered no real counter, other than some failed attempt that Morey wasn't educated on the topic. And says social media isn't always the proper way to go about things... Rich.

Then digs deeper and says his team had a tough week. Boohoo. Hong Kong people are being arrested, shot and killed fighting for freedom but you guys had a tough week. Injustice fighter my ***.

We're learning that some of the high-profile players and coaches have "opinions" on social matters, but not "convictions". When it gets to the point that it might start costing them money, all bets are off. Almost looks like they're "slaves" to money. Huh, that's weird.

What nuts too is some of these guys are already filthy rich. LBJ has made 200+ mil from NBA, millions and potentially a billion more from Nike and other sponsors.

Yet, when something could affect future earnings, they'll bow down to the almighty dollar. Even if it means supporting an oppressive regime.

I guess Lebron and the NBA are OK with this; as long as they're still buying them, even if its just to burn them.

so you want NBA and other players to be commenting on social issues outside USA?

what about genocide in Africa?
What about human rights abuses in Kashmir?
What about massacres and rape in Middle East?

cant do that

stick to social issues in our own country otherwise it will be open season because all these issues have a million angles and everyone is right and everyone is wrong

I'd prefer they not comment on social issues anywhere.... period. All of these issues have a million angles and everyone is right and everyone is wrong even in their own country. I found it particularly and ironically amusing that a high school grad described a Northwestern and MIT grad as "uneducated".

Lebron damaged his brand in the eyes of most everyone other than his most ardent supporters. He, Harden and others exposed themselves as social justice frauds. Meanwhile, China provided the rest of the world with some insight about what its like to live under stifling government control. I hope this serves as a wake-up call to anyone who thinks moving closer to communism is preferable to our current socioeconomic system.

I don’t think anyone is wanting to move to communism. These are just media red herrings to get people riled up

Lebron is so full of him self. He sounds like an uneducated parrot any time me makes an social statement.

I cringe every time he refers to himself as a "basketball historian". Thats a huge insult to group yourself with people that have spent years earning graduate degree's. As well as countless hours doing legitimate research

I'm hesitant to speculate on someone's intelligence; but I've encountered a number of people over the years in corporate America who want to appear smart by using big words but they're just not sure how. They'll use those "fancy" words out of context, or embellish the word with additional context when its not necessary (e.g. "I contemplated that in my mind") Their use/misuse of those words reveal their ambition, but also the limits of their intellect.

Emmitt Smith was one of those people. Lebron appears to be one of those people. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Emmitt or Lebron are stupid; but their mastery of the language indicates they're not educated. That's one of the reasons I found Lebron's statement about Morey so ironic(al :D).

The man has a high school education. Why anyone would look to him for an opinion is beyond my ability to understand. Its actually funny to me when he puts on his black glasses and tries to look serious and be taken seriously as he obliviously opines on issues way out of his depth.

In all fairness, doesn't everyone want to "appear smart"? I have never met someone that enjoys feeling like a fool.

Funny how the almighty dollar evaporates the presence of morality. Best to just keep your mouth shut these days.

It affects his bottom line, sure. But lost revenue means smaller team cap and impacts all NBA players. The top tier players may lose out on millions. Doesn’t matter as much to LeBron in comparison to say role players around the league whose salaries would also be impacted.

Maybe it’s just self interest. Maybe it’s a combination of self interest and the interests of the players around the league, too.

Yes, but read my complete statement: "......by using big words but they're just not sure how."

Its the same thing as saying everyone wants to look sexy, but does that excuse old men for wearing speedos?
