We have had a DT depth issue from day 1 of training camp. Glad to see the media honchos catching up.

Rod needs to go, like yesterday, but he's a former Marine and is a man with integrity. Try to show a little class and respect.

Agree about Rod.

Should have been fired years ago [after the 2014 season.]

THill needs a lot of work, but he's a rook.

He's getting game reps. Give him time.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I get why people want Marinelli's head on a stick for Hill's failures.

But this kid is a perfect example of this generation.

Just do your research on him. There are all kinds of clues about him.

There are a ton of excuses. And it sounds like he is not necessarily lazy. And still there were excuses made for him.

He is soft. That is the bigger issue. He is a participation ribbon kid.

There is next to no aggression in any of his game.

This is a sport for grown men.

Not Mama's boys.

Rod's been the DL coach since 2013.

How many of our guys have been All Pro/Pro Bowl players?

DLaw and JHatch in 2013.

It is absolutely frustrating that Marinelli can coach mediocre players to perform at a serviceable level but he cannot scout good talent to save his life.

Don’t let Rod into the Star on Draft Day, just get him some talent and let him coach.

they need to keep marnelli out of the draft room

They do keep him out.

I dont know where this narrative comes from that Marinelli is the reason for these picks.

These last several years, Marinelli and Linehan only entered the war room when a player was already on the phone. So if Marinelli causes these picks, it must be during the scouting period. No one in the press reports on how scouting is done for Dallas, so neither of us have heard about Marinelli telling scouts to pick a guy.

I have the same access to sports news that just about everyone else here does. Tell me where you read that Marinelli was pounding the table for a guy. I've seen with my own eyes that he doesnt do anything on draft day but talk to guys on phones after theyve been picked.

This is just a bull **** narrative because people are unhappy with the defense and they need to blame it on someone. There is 0 evidence to support Marinelli made these picks happen.

Before anyone says "he said to reporters that he likes the pick", tell me *** else he should say if he wants to keep his job.

Blame McClay. Our personnel department sucks at DL. Our personnel department has been great on offense, are we gonna give Linehan credit for that? No! So dont blame Marinelli when all public reports say he had no more influence than Linehan or any other coach besides JG.

Its absurd. Most likely Marinelli ends up in the HoF discussion based on his career as a DC. Everywhere he goes, defenses improve. Anyone remember 2013?

Time stamped. Says he's simply not strong enough right now. Dallas has to get another DT asap.

Not that surprising, and not the worst news. Strength can and usually is developed in full NFL offseasons.

This is not the same play that Jeff Cavanuagh tweeted in your initial arguement.

Maybe provide some context rather than posting a random clip?

The play I posted has Joe Jackson at RDE and Hill at 3-tech next to him.

Jackson almost gets to the QB.

I'm hoping a year in the system will mature Hill physically and mentally. Didn't his previous college coach, Scott Frost, vouch for Hill?

Well, at least he played!

Good thing we used our first pick in this year's draft on a guy who might be ready to play in 2020 at the weakest position on the team!

I'm fine with that. Hill was drafted as the replacement for Collins next year.

The failure was in counting on Crawford this year. We banked on a guy with a known health issue who needed surgery for another and cost too much.

It comes from the 2013 draft where Marinelli insisted on not drafting Shariff Floyd whom the scouts had at #4 on our draft board. It comes from the leaked draft boards that were mysteriously missing 1-tech defensive tackles. The question isn't where this narrative comes from..........the real question is how are you so oblivious?

None of that proves Marinelli had anything to do with any of it.

Everyone says Jerry runs the show and everyone else is a puppet. But when it comes to DL, y'all act like Marinelli tells Jerry how it is. It's totally illogical.

Jerry doesn't know squat about personnel. He is 100% reliant on Will and the coaching staff. He makes the final decisions but only after they educate him on the choices. This is basic stuff dude ...Cowboys 101.
