Like watching Sean P in NO. The guy oozes cockiness. You know he wants to run it up every week. I think Meyer is the same. He would instantly show these soft underachievers who the boss is. I think if you paired him with a good, NFL experienced DC you would have something. I know the chances are long but I am starting to hope for Meyer.

I just want a coach with swagger here. A guy that knows he is good and acts like it. Not the school girl running around looking for high fives after a 3 and out.
Urban Meyer is a joke. :lmao2::lmao::laugh:

The love for both Urban Meyer and the young upstart Lincoln Riley by fans here seem to be a little overrated. Both Meyer and Riley have taken the field for all but a few games, with a huge talent advantage which they would never have in the NFL.

College coaching “genius” IMO is more a reflection of successful recruiting than genius coaching. It’s easier to look great when your backups are 5 star recruits and the teams you normally play have zero 5 star players.
I would take either of those guys over Garrett any day of the week.

It's all about Jerry. He doesn't want a coach with personality or swagger that would make it seem like the HC is actually in charge of the team instead of him.

It's all about the puppets like Wade and Garrett! Non-threatening to Jerry

any college coach would have a 2 year NFL learning curve, unless they have been in the NFL and even then, its still a re-learning....I am not saying Meyers is a bad choice, but are you willing to forgo the next two seasons. also, there hasn't been a successful college to NFL coaches in a long while, yeah yeah yeah...Jimmy and couple of others, but recently there are more failed college coaches....Kelly oozed confidence and ran it up every week when he could and he got kicked out of NFL pretty quick....so there is also a huge risk that after two years we are not going anywhere and have to restart

I love Sean Peyton style of coaching. He does not take BS from his players and he when he is pissed he looks like he wants to kill you.

I remember when they played the Rams and they got cheated from getting a TD off a turnover. Sean Peyton laid it in on that ref that blew that whistle and never let up the entire game. Everytime Sean saw him he looked at him as if he wanted to kill him.

Garrett is too warm and fuzzy. Sure he is liked by the players. But sometimes you need a coach like Peyton you will rip you a new one when you mess up.
Garett did throw flag at a ref and cuss him out few weeks back, he chooses to not do that but he has it in him, he was player for the luv of god..

Urban Meyer wouldn't last 3 years here.....And actually.....he's not a very good X and O's guy. He's just another puppet. Guy has made a living off of up and coming assistants. Plus he wouldn't be a grinder....he'd want to go play golf...hang out with his family....ect. I'd pass.
picking and grooming great assistants is an asset not a negative..if he can bring some with him, thats a bonus..

A head coach like that needs the power to cut guys that don’t fit and go get guys that do.

For the love of God Chip Kelly? How can you compare that clown to Urban Meyer. Meyer is an elite coach. He would win right away. Zero risk with Urban Meyer.

Silly old boy.
We dont need swagger and cockiness.

We need Jimmy Johnson's fire-breathing, no-nonsense ways of motivating his players and firing the bottom feeders to scare the so-called stars and starters!

Blimey, swagger doesn't do nilly squat but make you look silly after a defeat.
Jimmy won't coach, but, by jingles, he can consult and glower at the players from the sidelines!

For all us 25+ year fans we know Jerry is on his death bed. He has zero time for a college coach to adapt to the NFL.

BTW I'm 49.years in.....it's not happening
