I love both WR’s and I think they are both great with very different styles of play. It’s honestly super close for me, curious to see what y’all think

More fun to watch, 88 or 19?

I think I appreciate Coop's magic route running more than Dez's go up and get it. Coop just jockstraps guys the way Beasley does. What Dez does is impressive, but what Coop does is a thing of beauty.

I respectfully disagree. If you replace Dez with Coop in 2012 to 2014, with Romo throwing him balls, Coop would obliterate the stats Dez put up. No doubt in my mind.

Love Dak, but he doesn't have the passing skills Romo has. Even with Dak over 16 games, he put up stats comparable to Dez's best years:

Dez career season highs
Catches: 93 (2013)
TDs: 16 (2012)
Yards: 1,382 yards (2014)

Coop was a midseason pickup for half the season last year (and essentially missed 1 game this year). He's playing better this year (with a TC under his belt with Dak). I could easily see him beasting even more with Romo tossing him the rock.

Wrong

You guys kill me. Who called the plays most of Dez’ career here? Garrett

The same Garrett that yall complain had his fingerprints on the loss to the Saints and Jets

Dez played his entire career in an offense with 0 creativity with the philosophy of “beat your man”. With that said, he STILL was a top 3 WR in his prime.

Just because your hero Dakota cant throw a back shoulder or jump ball to save his life, doesnt mean Amari is better.

Also, has Amari had a multiple td game on the road yet??

He has 2 TDs on the road in 8 games

Dez Bryant because he was a living highlight reel. Not many WRs can be that dominant with the ball in their hands.

Cooper on replays when you see how crisp his routes are. Every time I see cooper get a catch im thinking "how is he THAT wide open". But then I see the replay and how he turns the DBs' ankles into fried pork chops. You have to really appreciate the work that goes into being able to maneuver like that.

With that said some of you guys are funny, this isn't a debate on who's better.

What? You can only compare Dak 1st 3 1/2 years as a starter to Romo's. Romo his 1st 4 years starting....107 tds, 55 ints. Romo was an interception machine early in his career. Dak does take untimely risks at times, thus the ints this year. But he can make all the throws.

Dez was a top 3 wr for such a short time. Coop can run routes better than anyone in the league. Hes going to be great for along time.

I liked watching Dez address the opposition before, after, and even DURING his route. Coop looks like he is trying to convert fractions to decimals while planning his brother-in-laws law firm brunch social.

Dez is your guy, I get it. He has a very limited route tree. When his prime was gone, so was his usefulness to the Cowboys. All those years in the league and he failed to expand his route tree. That's on him.

I won't even begin to talk about Amari's route running. It speaks for itself. And for the record, there was no creativity last year (same Linehan calling plays for both players). Amari still balled out. This year, sure they're more creative with Kellen's playcalling. But even if Dez played today, the Cowboys couldn't use him the way they use Coop because he isn't a good route runner.

Even if Jason Garrett called plays while Dez was here, Romo had the authority to audible out of a bad play to a more advantageous one.

Dez's best years were with Romo. Even in limited time together with Dak (midseason pickup and 1 training camp). Yet, Coop put up similar numbers that reflect Dez's best years, statically as I posted.

Only thing Dez was better was the jump ball, That's it.

Dez was more fun to watch for other teams when he completely had a meltdown and taken out of the game.

This route-running nonsense wasnt a topic on here until Dakota’s second season....

Dez was electric with contested balls. When we got in the red zone and the ball went his way you felt he had a chance to catch anything. Cooper isn't a jump ball guy, but has speed and runs amazing routes.

Dez caught 73 tds for the Cowboys and many of those were some pretty spectacular catches. Cooper has caught 11, so right now the easy answer is Dez. Ask again in a four years and may give you a different answer.

Cooper and it’s not close. He just goes out and gets the job done, no diva in him. His footwork is stellar.

Would have loved to see both in their primes together though. Or Cooper with prime Romo.

Nothing fun about watching Dez. The two receivers dont really compare. Cooper is head and shoulders better.

Lol. I fortunately miss them all. The ignore option is such a blessing to block out the continuous whining from certain children.

We are lucky to have Cooper make no mistake.

But Dez at his peak was an incredibly dangerous football player.

In fact, I would argue that until he arrived the team had little backbone and was bullied.

He brought an alpha mentality to the team that had been missed dearly. He was instant credibility- opponents feared him.
