I don’t know why the Patriots aren’t offering us two firsts for Witten.

Probably the same reason they aren't offering 2 firsts for Howard. Pats don't do stupid deals typically. Pats aren't offering a 2nd for Howard apparently. They will offer a conditional 6th rounder and probably get him at some point.

I wanted us to draft him in 2017. We need to jump on this one.

I was watching ESPN and Morten said Howard was available, supposedly Bruce got some calls but would have to be the right price.
e
I would be willing to trade a 2nd round for him.
He is leaps and bounds better than Jarwin or Shultz. But the Cowboys dumbo GM will pass. All Garrett has to do is call his old boss at Alabama about O. J. Howard.

Hes much better than Witten too
That old GOAT TE has to be carried off the field on a stretcher to the graveyard before he retires again. Chasing rings for Garrett...an impossible task even for "Everybody's All American" (Parcells nickname for Witten).

Out of college the only difference between Witten and Howard was coaching (Saban was better than Fulmer). They have the same height, weight, 40 yard time and not much vertical jump. They both catch just about everything thrown to them and can get open. Howard is the better overall quickness and agility athlete but Witten out of college was not far behind. Both can block a SEC must for a TE to start at Alabama or Tennessee.

Arian has never featured the TE in any offense he has been a part of as OC or HC.

If he can't beat out Brate, I don't think Jason would give him a shot to start over Witten.

He'd be a phenomenal #2 TE for us, but we need a new long term #1 TE. The question is where you would rather put those resources. It's not like they're letting him go for a 4th.

Jason Witten clock in 4.65 at the combine at 264 pounds 14-15 pounds more than Howard. Consider that information as why I said relatively the same 40 yard time. Online Draft Scout and a Tennessee report had Witten running 4.52 and 4.55 40 yard times at Tennessee.

Don't get me wrong. Witten is a GOAT in the NFL and Howard is just potential (ain't done it yet). But, don't believe the hype that Jason Witten was slow or is slow...video is worth a thousand words so go ahead and LOL after you watch:
