Yeah that's what they said they were asking. We only know that we offered a 1 and a late pick. There is room in the middle, and how negotiations usually work.
Only if both sides are willing to negotiate. We have no evidence that they were willing to move from the high price.

A 1 and two 2's means they weren't really looking to trade him. They wanted to rob someone.

So true. Bad look though from their front office dangling their two best players then asking them to show up and play hard and captain for a 1-6 team after nobody wanted them enough

‪And Cowboys fans would rather have guys like Taco, T.Hill, Randy Gregory, Connor Williams, Cheeto, Gavin Escobar, Bruce Carter, Jason Williams, Martellus, etc etc etc . There’s a reason The DC’s have been losers for 25 years in a row ‬. There’s also a reason Jerry and Jason love fans like y’all!!!

There's more to it than that, you have to factor in the salary cap and the fact that this team is loaded with talent. One day you'd have to pay Jamal big money & trust me - I wanted him more than anyone (I predicted a month ago we'd go after him aggressively).

As many have said, it's Earl Thomas all over again.

I think teams just expect Jerry to cave.

Seattle wanted a 2nd for Earl and we said no, and took Connor Williams.

Then during last season, we offered a 2nd and they said no.

Hopefully, Jamal plays through this year and politely makes it known he would like to be traded in the off-season. Then we just have to hope Baltimore or someone else doesn't outbid us.

Yay, can’t wait for our next year’s draft picks to take 2-3 years to develop before they can even help the team. Guess we’re gonna miss the boat.

I expect Adams to get traded unofficially before FA starts. I can see is upping our bid to a 1st and a 2nd

If it hasn’t already been posted already...Fisher alludes to the fact we’ll pursue Adams again.

Take it FWIW.

They talked up needing a Safety last offseason, then offer 1st's for Minkah and now Adams.

I wouldn't be shocked if the FO wanted one of the Safeties in the 2nd and got sold on Hill by Marinelli. I can see them going hard after a Safety this offseason

People keep thinking the Jets are asking too much but remember its Dallas that went to them. The Jets werent shopping him. Maybe Adams was shopping himself but why would the Jets let a very good player walk for a 1st round pick. That isnt even gonna be compensation for what they spent on him. Dallas sending them a #26 for a #6 draft pick. Thats not even a reset. Look at it like Dallas wants to move up from #26 to #6 in the draft and it would take a probably a total of 3 1st round picks. Geesh Dallas is looking for a steal that was never going to happen.

I'm going by what Admas says his agent told him. There was obviously a negotiation b/c we know the Jets price.

Every player has a price, this is not the same as your claim of "shopping" - words have meaning.

A team calling about Tom Brady and Bellichick telling them what that team would have to give up to get him or just saying "lol no" is not "shopping him", it's entertaining a call.

Adams isn't on the trade block, he's not being shopped, but the Jets GM understands you entertain the calls you get because there is a chance a team gives up more than what a player is worth. Do you actually believe their GM thinks Adams is worth a first and two seconds? Adams is a good safety, maybe even great, but he's not worth three high picks. Now in the future, this may change - but if they wanted to trade Adams before the deadline, they wouldn't have asked for such a steep price.

So, you contend Adam's agent lied to him. I say its far more likely that a GM would lie about a failed negotiation.

I think the agent told him exactly what happened and Adams got emotional....

And it has been reported THE COWBOYS inquired about Adams, the Jets didn't dangle him out there. The phone rang, the GM answered, the GM listened, the GM told the Cowboys what they had to give up to get him....and it was more than what Adams is worth, and the Jets knew this. The GM did his job. Adams is too emotional to understand this. Even Tom Brady grasps this concept that any player can be traded.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...rning-that-the-49ers-wanted-to-trade-for-him/

Brady was asked about the 49ers' trade request during his weekly radio appearance on WEEI in Boston.

"I have never really thought about that either, but I wouldn't see why that wouldn't be -- I mean, everyone has the opportunity to go to another team or get traded, or cut, or released," Brady said, via WEEI.com. "I have played with so many great players that that has happened to, several times, and coaches too. Player movement is not new to anyone. You try and play well and try and add value to the team and you try and be a great player and if you're not a great player for the team you are on then you try and be a great player for the other team that you are on."
