Well stated, offering a 1st and 3rd is stupid, and I imagine stevie was all for this with his dad.

I am surprised at the lack of reading comprehension I am seeing in several of the posts regarding this possible trade. We didn’t offer a 1st and a 3rd. We offered a first and aTHIRD DAY pic. On the third day of the draft we select rounds 4 thru 7, we were offering a pic somewhere in that range.

People are crying for no reason. Basically you’d be trading a late 1st and a late 3rd for a player that would be a top pick in the draft. But like you said it said third day.

When was the last time we drafted a HOF type player with a late 1st round pick? I'm waiting.

We drafted Travis Fredrick in 2013.

In 2015, we drafted Byron Jones, who has an outside chance of making the HOF if he maintains his more recent level of play for another decade or so (not unheard of for CBs with speed), with a late 1st round pick.

In 2016 we drafted a HOF talent, Jaylon Smith, at the top of the second round.

In 2018 we drafted a HOF type player, LVE, in the bottom half of the first round.

(Didn't want to keep you waiting.)

Which tells us, we don’t even know if NY would have taken a 1 and a 3 or 2 because we didn’t offer it. This is a rare talent. Should have made it happen. Could have turned this teams biggest weakness into a strength for the next 6-8 years.

Jerry Jones doing his best to destroy this team's future. He has violated just about every rule for building a team capable of contending for an extensive period of time.

One of the most important rules is that you don't mortgage the teams future for the belief that you have to win it all during one particular season. I mean, you trade your top draft picks to "fill a need" and then your quarterback goes down. Not only is that season in jeopardy but you can't get better in the near future having traded away Those valuable picks.

At the very least, Jerry should be capable of learning from his mistakes but I guess the Joey Galloway and Roy Williams trades wasn't enough. Both times that was all he thought he needed to get back to a Super Bowl and all it did was stunt the future development of the team.

Stephen is failing miserably when it comes to restraining his father's delusional belief that he knows how to build a football team without a phenomenal HC doing it for him.

I could see this post if the Cowboys had actually given the Jets what they wanted, but in the end they walked away (wisely, IMO). As for Stephen, Jerry is still President of the team.

Jerry's looking at 80 coming soon and wants another trophy. The "future" of the team shortens as he gets older.

Glad they didn’t. This is a position that should have been addressed earlier but I don’t know that a safety would have had the same impact Cooper did. Only reason to give up a pick is because there is no guarantee a first round pick or any draft pick is gonna be good enough.

the Jets were not "shopping" Adams. Big difference between listening to offers and actively looking to move a player.

Jets were saying a 1st and 2 2nds,, OR two 1sts. Neither is viable and the Ravens said no as well, the Jets were not budging and it was a ridiculous asking price.

QBR is for the mentally challenged and Skip Bayless.
Here's wants going to occur by the end of the season read carefully.
Our offense will flounder once again esp in the RED-Zone and culprit # 1 will be our passing game lead by yours truly Panic Sally Dak Prescott.
Why you may ask? We will be facing top ten defenses who will stop Zeke and force us to win with our passing game which has proven this is way above Dak's pay-grade as we are 1-9 when Zeke is under 75 yards.
Also, remember how well Dak does when he has pressure back there....NOT PRETTY!!!!
Our defense will hold its own but succumb in the end as it will be tired of being on the field all game long.
Red-zone will once again be Field-Goal city for us at best.

Get your excuse book ready Mr. C as I have a feeling you need every chapter by seasons end.

That's all for now and don't forget to give that Kiss to the Dak doll you have next to your bed.

If those things don’t happen will you disappear like you did when we started the season 3-0?

We’re 3rd in passing nearly halfway through the season. At what point do you feel dumb about your predictions? Is there a point? Serious question.

whoa.....i can't even imagine how you would've felt if JJ actually did all those things you describe

Notice the last sentence ..........I agree 1000%. No way they can repair the damage done. Look for us to revisit this sometime before the 2020 draft.

  • JAMAL ADAMSDB, NEW YORK JETS

Jets SS Jamal Adams says he did not request a trade, and that GM Joe Douglas "went behind my back and shopped me around to teams, even after I asked him to keep me here!"
Adams' tweet came minutes after Douglas said the exact opposite at a press conference. "Again, I just want to reiterate, we were not shopping any of those players we were talking about today," were Douglas' words. "He wears the ‘C’ patch for a reason. He’s an absolute warrior. He’s the heartbeat of the defense." To say there is a disconnect between team and player would be an understatement. Adams figures to be as good as gone (via trade) in the offseason.

Or, they could have drafted the S of their choice for just a late 2nd round pick this past april. Instead, they reached for DT who looks like a complete washout at this point. And even the armchairs knew this as it unfolded.

Cooper was a good deal for us. We have prospered from that trade.

The FOs offer for Adams was more than acceptable. How is losing a 1st and 5th (?) mortgaging your future when you get a stud with 2.5 years rookie contract left?

Quinn for a 6 and Bennett for a 6-7 are both awesome deals as well.

All of them are in Adams's area code, in terms of talent. They all have a great deal left to accomplish, but they all have the talent to make the HOF if they play up to that talent over an extended period of time.

You simply don't trade big draft capital for a box safety with coverage limitations. This just shows to me Stephen is in charge, Jerry would of traded 2 #1's and set this franchise back. With all the contracts up, especially at the CB position, the team needs their draft picks. Going on the open market to fill a starting CB position would be very expensive.

Jerry must have been out of Johnny Blue to have avoided that stupid trade. Either that or McClay unplugged the phone.

Increasing it to 2 first rounders as the article implies they wanted, would've been a plunger move by JJ that would've set us back for a long time. No one guy is worth that, especially at a S position. So glad that didn't happen!
There are definitely players worth 2 1sts. Adam's isn't one of them.
