CPOE (Completion Percentage Over Expected)
from NFL's "NextGen Stats"
1 Wilson +7.3
2 Prescott +7.2
3 Cousins +5.9
4 Stafford + 3.4
5 Watson +3.3

of top 32 QB in attempts

Dak is 7.2 percentage points above his expected completion percentage (based on receiver separation, QB pressure, and target depth on each attempt) this season.

Highlights from Podcast:

* Dak feet & accuracy were not good. Missing alot of throws on field. Not seeing safety on 1st throw of game is a concern. Thinks contract situation has to be effecting him because he is not playing clean games.

* Connor Williams is improving each week.

* WR edge blocking is big part of running game success.

* Strength of team is running game & OL.

* Dallas didn't miss beat when Health left game due to injury. Thompson played physical.

* Byron Jones lacks the ball skills necessary to make play on ball.

* DL was dominant.

I don't get the comments about Dak's accuracy, which didn't seem to be a problem at all last night other than very slightly overthrowing a few deep balls. A couple of those looked like it was as much the WR not seeing the ball as the throw being too far. Not seeing the safety was definitely a mistake, but that's not something to make too much of. Stuff happens.

Dak has been one of the most accurate deep ball throwing QB’s in the league this season.

all of a sudden he misses a couple in a game and it’s “very” concerning.

yes he missed some throws. He actually misses throws less often than most QB’s in the league. Watch football.

Poor basics, missed throws due to poor basics

Romo would've hit on the ones Dak missed. I wish Romo had this team when he was playing.

Dak is an awesome QB - for a backup.

Was he just as concerned with Aikman's or Romo's accuracy too? Since Dak's 69.6% completions aren't good enough in his opinion.

Dak isn't throwing the same game that Aikman or even Romo were. The passing game is much, much easier now. Completion percentages are way up because it's progressively much easier. I think you have to factor that in as well.

What about the passes that were truly perfectly placed? I get he's off on some, but the whole accuracy thing is blown up.

Personally, I thought he made few nice throws but some of his throws are low or off-target. That wide open throw to Jarwin was at his ankles. It think it all comes down to Dak feet. Beginning of year his footwork was noticeably improved. Since 3rd game of year there has been regression (or him returning to his baseline) of his footwork. I am close to point of just accepting this version of Dak. I think Jones are uncomfortable paying $35 mill year for this version of Dak.

He is completing 69.6% of his passes for crying out loud.

can the idiocy stop already.

He is “very” concerned huh? Very concerned. Despite the fact that all the metrics say Dak throws accurate balls more often than most QB’s.

good grief.

Seriously...he has Drew Brees type completion percentages and people still say he's inaccurate...it's hilarious.

The TD to Coop was simply a very long hand off.

Rewatch it, Coop didn't get his hands six inches away from his chest. There is a possibility if he didn't put his hands up at all, the ball would have stuck between the numbers.

Sure, he overthrew a TD in the endzone. Did you watch the Ravens/Patriot's game? Brady was missing all over the field.

But my personal opinion is, Dak's arm strength should never be questioned again.

No doubt, some are off. A couple that were not perfect passes he was off target, but extended the play from pressure to even have a chance to throw.

Dak Completion rate vs other top QB is better than most . I think critics want to move the goal post to prove their view. His yards per pass are amongst the highest in the NFL. I honestly do not think Dak will ever get credit as the QB of this team unless they can win it all.

I think it's valid but again, I'm going to rewatch the game. When you say "Credit as the QB of this team", what do you refer to ? I mean, he is the QB of the team. I don't really see anybody questioning that. He still suffers from inaccuracy. If you want to say that what he's doing is good enough, that's fine but we aren't beating guys in the playoffs and winning a championship if we don't improve in that area. That's just the truth of it but we can watch and see as the season goes on.

on the season he is hitting 69% completion rate that is as high as the top QB's in this league, these are not dink and dunk passes when you see the avg completion is as high as anyone in the NFL. I have never placed him as an elite QB but he is much more than a JAG as some love to claim.

I thought dak and jones both played well. I agree with podman that conner Williams played very well.

Some of those passes were bad yes. He had an bad-okay game IMO, but a lot of his passes were dropped once again. I can remember a Cobb one and Cooper one in specific that were dropped on big downs.

He overthrew and under threw a lot of passes last night, but he hasn't really had a bad game all season minus the Jets one (missing 2 OT's and 2 of his WR's, which really isn't an excuse to me, but I'll cut him some slack), and the Saints game was kind of poor. Also, I think those pain pills from having his wisdom teeth taken out messed him up in all honesty. He'll be fine. He has his games like any other QB. Dak is one of the least of my concerns on this team right now...
That’s actually news to me, when did he have that done? Because I’ve had mine done and boy let me tell you I was seeing triple afterwards from the medication lol

Sometime during the bye week. Not sure when though exactly. I've never had mines taken out so I don't know how long you have to take medication and how much it effects you, but I know its worser for some than others. I'll have to find the tweet that says he got them taken out...

Espn did an interview with Dak this past week. You could see his left eye was half shut during the interview.
