Doesn’t have to be said but this is the reason for our slow starts...

His clapping is certainly off. Has anyone noticed his butt-slaps to be on target or not?

That's his emotional zenith.......right there............look at that face..........mindless.......thinking God what are we eating on the flight home? I hope these players keep convincing Jerry to give me a ridiculous contract or my wife is likely to leave me......

We seem good for a few momentum shifting, drive killing negative yards play call on the cusp of FG range.

If only there was a position for one guy to oversee whether the team was mentally and physically prepared, and whether they came into each contest energetic and focused. I think the team should create a position like this and call it, I don't know, the top coach or something. I think that would really help. It just doesn't make any sense to start slow out of a bye week. We need a staff Overlord of some kind.:(

The coach is expected to prepare his team for any opponent. When he fails, he is expected to fix the mistakes he saw in the team that week.

Jason Garrett obviously never prepares this team. The reason we have so many "comebacks" is because the players themselves have to devise a way to win after halftime.

Often times, it's too late. But you gotta give them credit for trying. Garrett is the worst enemy of this team.

Well Last night, it was Dak. Interception on the first play of game, fumbled a snap to kill a drive early in the game. The team is prepared, they just fail to execute to their talent level, which is on the player.

With the exception of the Philly game, we have managed to come out of the gates notoriously slow in every other game this year.

I know the Giants don't have that kind of defense to be able to hold us down to 10 or less points for the
first half of the game.

and I was disappointed why we were dinking and dunking instead of going for the throat attack chunk plays
vs a porous Giants secondary.

They do not have the CBs to handle our WRs, but we were sold on going to 'lumbering" Witten for a sprinkle of plays here and there.

But notice how when we started pushing the ball downfield to Cooper, Gallup and Cobb, ..our offense started to boil and sizzle up. We were at the top of the NFL when it came to 3rd down conversion, but yet
the Giants were able

I dunno what it is with these slow starts and early conservative modes .. a team like the Pats are simply going to kill us if we do the same.

100% agree. Cowboys seem to play "not to lose" early.

Jason Garrett - that's why they always start slow and appear totally unprepared.

So we're the Pats unprepared vs the Commanders during their 1st half slow start? How about against Miami, how about vs Giants was that because of Belicheck? You sound absolutely stupid. All teams have slow starts.

So when do grown a men who are professionals responsible for being prepared for the game. When do these professionals hold themselves accountable. We're the Pats unprepared vs the Dolphis, Commanders, or Giants because they started slow in all those games. Was that on Belichek

I’d endure another year or two of Garrett for ONE reason only: so we could see more clapping, just to annoy all the morons that can’t shut up about it.

And yet, we lead the league in Offense. We are 5th in PPG in the entire NFL. Lead the league in Average Yards Per Game. Lead the league in 3rd Down conversions. I mean, I can go on here but what it tells me is that this is not a problem with the actual scheme. Penalties, turnovers, none execution or lack of focus is the problem IMO.

The sense of urgency isnt there. The only time this team plays with a sense of urgency is when their season is threatened.
Yep and that is kinda why I am glad the Eagles are winning. We play better when our backs are against the wall.

on the contrary, we did try and go deep several times, but the throws were missed. couple of them WR was wide open and Dak over threw. his deep passes were very flat as opposed to having more air under them.....

notice how cooper caught only 4 of 7 passes and gallop caught only 2 of 6? Going to witten and cobb is what kept most drives alive.

I actually thought we came out with good energy and focus on both sides. We were hindered by obvious blunders by Dak and Cobb but I tend to look at the aggressive play calling to start the game. Sometimes a "slow" start can be deceiving.

They know if they get down big early it's over because Dak can't put the game on his shoulders alone and bring them back to get a win. So they try their best not to let that happen in the early going. Basically, they are afraid of losing the game in the 1st Quarter.

Which is, of course, why it does happen on occasion. Especially against the better teams.

.. not if NE starts as slow as THEY did against Baltimore .. I suppose their coach sucks.

Let's not forget about Pollard's bonehead move stepping out of bounds on the kickoff. I know he was trying to draw a penalty, but that's not how it works.
