They're not even doing a good job of that. Didn't they learn from Taco about letting every little detail leak to the media and destroying his trade value?
I think Taco helped destroy his own value with his "free me" tweets.

In general, the idea of not starting your best players makes zero sense.

Do you think the D-Coordinator was possibly just trying to put a positive spin on a guy he liked/is pulling for?
Another case of million dollar talent and .05 head?

Unless it becomes very serious off field that heavily involve the law such as a sensless violent crime, Cowboys are not going to cut Hill at end of the year or offseason.
That may be backlash fan reaction but Cowboys not likely to give up a high draft pick that fast in just his rookie year.

Maybe miscues like this, he will continue to get the fines and made game inactive. But they won’t give up on him as far as cutting him that fast.
Not a 2nd round pick, not one that talented, not one that young.

Time will tell if it's either a lack of maturity with Trysten, .or if it's a lack of alpha- dog drive in him.
is he another Taco or David Irving ?
and i dunno if i can remember a player here with the Cowboys, that was in questioned very early in his career but eventually emerged as a better driving force in the league

But as with any player they bring into the organization via draft, trade or FA, the entire organization have keep constantly preaching the staple message and staple stamp ffoundation of
... “ Does this player love football ?... Is it a passion and prioriety -first with him ? “

Same expectation was for Irving, ....same expectation was for Taco,..same will be expected of Hill.

maybe his opinions in the war room don't carry as much weight as some think they do.

Or maybe they do...

The Taco Charlton vs. T.J. Watt debate had been settled days before, the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff winning the healthy argument with the scouting department, Rod Marinelli and the coaches believing that Watt is more of an outside linebacker than the right defensive end the scouting department viewed him to be.

The Taco Charlton vs. Takk McKinley debate had been settled only moments before, with the Cowboys having been jumped by the Atlanta Falcons, who traded up to the No. 27 spot to take McKinley, the right defensive end with a shoulder issue — but also with a grade from Dallas that ranked him above Charlton on the Cowboys’ board.

(even though Broaddus insist McClay was 100% right on board with the coaching staff with this pick)

(Yet ole Rod didn’t have any qualms about drafting a 237 pound Gregory, who was instantly made into a 4-3 DE in this scheme ? )

This pisses me off to no end. I hate you Marinelli.
For sure...blame it on a 'whipping boy' as the entire team develops.

First off, on a time table, a first round pick should not be evaluated for starter material, until at least half a season in the NFL. He has about a full year from this point, now, to show a general direction of improvements.

A rah-rah evaluation of all knowing, just isn't being a fan....critic or sports reporter, maybe, but fan...NO!

If one finds this a trip point, then,

And both Garrett and Marinelli need to hang for blowing a 1st round pick.

This is a precursor to bringing Gregory back. Leak that Hill is failing, so once Gregory puts in his paperwork, and gets approved, a roster spot will open up. *Conjecture*

I haven't heard or seen a shred of information that would give me any impression that Gregory is even trying at this point.
